Your school must be pretty big if you need a map.

They're building a school in Greenville that's huge, so I expect them to have a map as well.

Haha... some people actually use rolling backpacks? America is weird. If someone used one in england.... I think regardless of their race or creed, every single person who cross the roller's path would bully him.

Maps are handy. Usually I don't need them after a few weeks, though...

I start Tuesday. Freshman too. =D

Actually, I use a rolling backpack. :P I never roll it, though... I always lug it around on my back. The wheels kill my legs on the bus, though. So yeah. Wouldn't suggest a roller.

Oh yeah, I forgot.
If someone's giving you a hard time for no apparent reason, get in their face right back.
You never need to take lip from anyone.

Example: Last year some sophomores were making these cardboard crowns for their class that normally only seniors could wear. They cost about 2$ apiece. Well...apparently, the seniors thought it was their prerogative to just walk up and start ripping peoples crowns apart. I'm sorry, but you DON'T touch things like belong to me or we have a serious problem on our hands.

Excited about school, now that's a new concept for me. The only thing I hate about the portables at my school is that it has 2 numbers on it, and I never knew which was the right one. I just followed my friends. Honestly though, portables are one of the easier things to find. Good luck though, high school is so much better than elementary, trust me!

It seems weird that you all think of 'Freshman' as people in Year 9, and that you start high school in Year 9 in general (I come from Australia here, and the little people are Year 7), but most 'Seniors' generally don't like 'Freshman' because they're rowdy, don't know when to stop being stupid and annoying, and don't seem to understand that they don't own the entire school

And we have a roller bag phase here too. When my bag broke last year my parents were like, "Oh look Ria! You should by this bag with wheels, it'd be so much easier to carry around." And I'm like... "Yeah. Sure. Especially with all the stairs my school has.... " But really, most of the time it takes a few months for 'Freshman' to get settled into a new school, and once they do there generally aren't as many problems. Of course, that's at my school, which has a very good reputation.

Go to an all blokes school. De La Salle, to be exact.

Oh the fun the littlies have, always being teased. Well, they bring it upon themselves. They push through crowds, swear loudly, steal your old sitting spots and refuse to give them back, and generally annoy the heck out of everyone. And they're small.

If anyone gives you too much trouble, though, report 'em. A little teasing is fine, but if you find yourself head first in a trashcan full of vomit...

...let's just say that sometimes being called a whimp is a good price for your health and sanity.

This is not good advice. Really, it's not.

Walking past the cuties and staring at your shoes is the correct mode of behaviour.

It's my first year in high school, too. So far (3 days) it hasn't been too bad. But then again, I don't really expect much torture from a South Dakota high school. :P

I just make a point to avoid the football players, and stay in the halls I need to be, and I'm fine. Of course, there's a "tradition" that we *have* to do what upperclassmen tell us to do (to a point), but it probably helps that we have an anti-hazing policy at our school.
