Alexander Graham Bell didn't like people saying "Hello" when they answered the phone, because it was chosen by a rival inventor. He prefered the term "Hoy, hoy" or "Ahoy," but they didn't catch on the way "Hello" did. I think that's why Mr Burns on the Simpsons says "Hoy, hoy" when he answers the phone.

In Latin, "nemo" means "no one." It kind of makes you consider the movie title "Finding Nemo" rather strange.

And more in Latin--"procrastinate" has the Latin roots "pro" and "cras," meaning "for" and "tomorrow." Perfectly apt, no?

When Chevy went to sell their Chevy Novas in Mexico hardly anyone bought them. No wonder, in Spanish Nova means "No go" hehe (sorry if that was a little weird O_o)

Actually, that's not true. It's just a story business school professors like to prattle on about in their market research classes as a "classic example of why market research is important." I heard it in an organizational behavior class last summer and drove my professor bonkers by insisting that he was wrong.

Actually that's not true, my friend showed me a site that had a kinda walkthrough on how it is done, basically through using command prompt. Not sure what site it was posted on so if anyone wants to verify...

i went and did it, actually i still don't get why you can't o_O

- the neanderthal man's brain was bigger than modern man's
- apples, not caffiene, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning (i don't believe that)
