I went to a private school from K-6th grade. I went to a public junior high. I was going to go to a private high school for all four years, but I only went there for freshmen year because it cost a lot, and was stressful and competitive. Now, I go to a public school. It's a magnet school.

Public all the way through. I did go to schools out of my district though, because they had a program I wanted to go into.

Now I attend a public University.

Private school, as in pay a lot of money to get the best education possible.

That is the philosophy of most Asian parents that I know of. Of course, if they can't afford it, they usually don't. That or they mortgage things, invest in education funds and a whole lot of other things to get the best education for their kids. I think it's apparent that education is very high up on the list of "Gifts to Children".

In England-
Public and Private schools are the SAME THING

In the States, I believe, Public School is the same as an English Comprehensive School (free)

I go to my local comprehensive school, which goes by the optimistic name of Appleby Grammar School. It's not actually a Grammar School, as it is free and not selective.

Ahhh, secondary school. Bliss. Teenage pregnancies, plague ridden toilets, townies everywhere...

No plague here, but the toilets flood regularly.

Once we found a beanie baby down a toilet. That was disturbing. o.o.

For grades K-1, I went to a private Catholic school. After that, I went to public schools (and am still enrolled in them) and I am SO happy that I changed.
