I'd have to disagree. I've been hurt in soccer (I tripped once and had a whole bunch of cleated feet run over me, when the ball went over me, i've been hit by the ball by powerful kickers. I played goal; broke a couple fingers, my nose... but to be honest? Thats NOTHING compared to what i've had done to me in horse back riding.
The most recent was cracking three ribs when the neighbours dog attacked my horse and Smoky went careening off and crashed me into a over hanging branch.
When Smoky and I jumped, he crashed into the jump, I whipped over his head and snapped one of the jumping bars with my back (that was instant bruising), i've been deseated and had the saddle horn (since I ride western now) jammed into my thigh, leaving nasty ugly huge... bruises. I've been bitten, kicked, stamped on (not by my own horses though), and generally beaten up by horses.
You'd think i'd learn.
But I havn't.
OH! I fell off once, and since I use draw reins (think double reins) my fingers got caught and I broke three at once.
I stopped playing piano after that.
That's why I do regular horse back riding, I'm too much of a chicken to do anything else. One of my friends has been beaten up by horses so much, if I were her I'd terrified to go anywhere near them

I'll probably sound like a chavaunist pig but the team I was on never lost to a girls team, I often was yellow carded for using the same brute force on female opponents when tackling as male opponets...they didnt't like my theory on gender equality. Kicking people in the shins was one of all our opponents favourite activities, but thats nothing compared to this one team we played. They were Regional Reps and they had 2-3 really obnoxious little buggers that kicked you/stood on you when you were down and shoved and yelled and so forth...Soccer Memories...
I hate it when I play with guys and they obviously slow down so the girls can win. If I win, I want it to be because of my own merits not because I got handed the victory on a plate. Of course if I get kicked I'll start kicking back as hard as I can but that doesn't have to do anything with gender. I just hate people being condescending to me and that includes the times when I'm playing soccer.
