All I know is that I can make a variety of very tasty food in the microwave. <3

a microwave does have its benefits(quick, easy and simple to use) but really try sticking to cooking your own food. It's more healthy and an added bonus is that you can impress everyone you know if you make some delicious meal!

You could also eat nutrient paste with no obvious flavour that provides everything your body needs in a day and nothing else.

That's a bit boring though, Isn't it.

While it may have perceived social or ecological benefits, at the end of the day, people are very inefficient meat producers.

1. Does Microwave cooking reduce the nutritional value of food any more than other forms of cooking (considering that it is usually faster and at a lower temperature, my guess is that any loss is less).
2. Any other warnings or food specific advice?

Thanks
Vincent

A. Microwaves in your microwave oven cause water molecules in your food to vibrate, which in turn causes the surrounding molecules to heat up. Nutrient loss depends on length of cooking time and amount of water used. Microwaving your food will keep more nutrients intact than boiling because of the short cooking time, but frying foods will maintain more vitamins. Unfortunately frying also adds more calories.
While there are groups of people who believe that microwaving food is dangerous, current research shows that microwaving your food is safe. There are, however, two warnings I have for you. People with pacemakers should not be near microwave ovens while they are in use, and you should not use plastic or Styrofoam containers in the microwave, unless they are specifically made for use in a microwave. Some plastics may melt and give off harmful chemicals as a side effect. The best containers for microwaving are made of glass.

Nor stapled paper bags, such as those you might put unpopped (?) popcorn in.

Or grapes. Grapes don't like being microwaved.
