I believe in life on other planets, just not evil green thingys with big black eyes and oversized heads. But I can't help being scared every time I watch Signs...*shudder*

There are reasons to belive, and not to belive. i belive in them, except, i don't think that they are evil little green people with big black eyes that go around abducting people. I wonder if they know that we exist? Because we must be aliens to them... they probably think of us as evil little green men with big black eyes out to destroy the world. ;)

I see no reason not to believe in "aliens". Science hasn't discovered there is no life on other planets, so yes, I believe in aliens, but not the stereotypical green thingymajigs.

i believe in them. my dad actually saw an UFO as dawn broke many years ago. according to him, it was too big to be a comet and there were lights shining out from the disc-like object

Yet nothing...

i said that..or has everyone just taken to ignoring me off the bat to save time?
actually 10,000 to the power of 30 is 10,000 followed by a further 30 10,000's
your thinking of 10 33

Oh sorry Setekh, I read your post it wasn't really the same thing but whatever...I wasn't excactly sure how the number thing went, but its the odds are aginst us arn't they.

very much so against us.
(and its called the ferme paradox by the way, simply put 9though not as oversimplified as "we evolved from monkeys" , monkeys as we know them are our cousins not ancestors :x ) "if they existed, we would know...somehow"

In a universe that potentially infinitately big, I hope there's life out there. And hopefully they managed to achieve things like world peace, a cure to all disease, and an end to selling those annoying green sticks that glow in night clubs.

To quote men much smarter than I:

'And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.'

Al though I must admit the odds that there are possibly millions (ok I have no exact figures but don't kill me because of it :P) of other planets out there similar to earth with life on are big I still choose to believe in my religion which leads to that I have to say that no, I don't believe in aliens.

i theory, there should be intelligent life every 600 light years or so, and yet...didly.

I believe in Alien life, "intelligent" or not, that doesn't really matter.

Just because we haven't been able to contact any far civilisation doesn't mean that they don't exist. Think of it, the post above me said something about intelligent life every 600 lightyears. Well, to send a radiosignal that far would take 600 years, and another 600 years for them to answer, so it isn't that strange that we haven't got any contact yet ;P

And the thought of us being alone in the universe scares the hell out of me, it would be the ultimate isolation, I can't even get the thoughts into word, but I really really feel bad about that possibility.

Humans have been on the Earth time about over 6000 years, only in the about almost hundred years have we been using radfio waves, I'm pretty sure an active culture sending tons of signals wildly through space would of been recieved through that period, just because so many would probab;y be going on.

i am not sure weather i belive in them or not.

I believe that we can't be trhe only planet with life, we're just a tiny speck in the milky way...who knows what could be out there? o_O
