Ah. Thanks!

And one more thing. Recently (yesterday), Ad-aware started to ignore 4 files, but said that they were spyware. How do I set it so that it will not ignore these files and I can get rid of them? They seem to be re-installing the mess that I delete after I run Ad-aware 6.

Make sure you set Ad-aware to scan everything, and that you are selecting all objects to be deleted. (Right click and Select All Objects.)

Alright maybe you computer literate people can help me out :( ...well first problem...my IE won't show history, I can't see any of the old sites I've visited. When I click on IE history it's just blank o_O. I have the option to save history for like 6 days, but still nothing shows up.

I dl a couple of programs a while back and at first my comp kept freezing, I thought it was lack of RAM or something which wasn't letting me run too many apps at the same time. Well recently the thing went Kaboom...I don't know what happened. I was allocating more memory under the system options to see if that would take care of the programs freezing up but I guess maybe I made changes to something I shouldn't have and screwed it all up. So due to whatever it was that happened, I have lost icons that were once on my desktop and lost my quick launch bar icons too...I lost the wallpaper I had set and even one of the programs, as far as I can tell it was just one, got deleted sort of...I had only the unistall option for that program available. I had the installation setup saved so I reinstalled it.

I know XP has a system restore option, I currently have windows 2000. I don't know why, my sister reformated my comp and installed 2000 saying we didn't had memory for XP but 2000 requires less so it would probably be better. I was wondering how to do a system restore in 2000...is it even available on 2000 without making backups?

and why doesn't the animated globes show up on my comp at home but they do on my sister's...I've messed around with the IE options to try and see if I can fix it and no luck....oh and I think I lost Mozzila too when the other program got deleted o_o

Windows 2000 doesn't come with a System Restore feature. As far as I can tell, the Windows install was corrupted.

What are the computer's specs? If I know the specs, I can help you out more.

Is there a way to ascess the system restore on my old computer, windows 95?

Wed Jun 16, 2004 7:52 am

The closest thing 95 has should be the origional install disk, and if you have a Hewlett packard, a system medical kit (does the same job as the install disk but easier.)

Ok, then I would like to know, how much space does the shockwave plugin take up?

Shockwave takes very little space, it should run on any computer. I couldn't find how much space it takes, but I know it isn't much.

Then that's weird. I tried to install the plugin, it said there wasn't enough space on my computer, when I'm sure I have at least 5GB left(not much, that's because I have lots of programs and files on my com :P ). Shockwave shouldn't take up more than 10MB, should it?

He has Norton Internet Security. Where can I go in there to add Neopets to a 'allowed site' or whatever, so I can do things on Neopets? I can't view the shop wizard, take things out of my SDB/shop, create trades etc.

Any help is appreciated.

I used to have that problem. It is the firewall. 'Fraid there's nothing you can do if your brother has cable.

Shockwave should take no more than 2 MB. Some space is reserved on your hard drive for Recycle Bin, Temporary Internet Files, and the Swapfile.

I have a problem with this stupid search engine! It resets my blank homepage to it, and then, the link keeps appearing in my favorites - everytime I erase it off, it comes back within 10 seconds. I already scanned my computer for spyware, removed it, and it still comes back! Any help would be appreciated.

Update your reference files. Most people don't do this, but you should check for updates reguarly.

What program are you using to detect/remove spyware?

Downmload Hijackthis from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html .
