one of my friends hated taking pills, and when he was travelling he got ill when he was somewhere in africa (nothing serious), but he has to take some medicine. when he told the doctor that he didnt like pills, the doctor said he'd cure him of that, and prescribed him LOADS of HUGE pills to take. needless to say, my friend still doesnt LIKE taking pills, but he's much better at it now!!

If you ever feel like the pill is stuck in your throat, it probably is. The larynx forms a sort of shelf in the throat. Just drink a full glass of water to wash it down.
I prefer pills over liquid/disolving/chewable medicines. The only thing I hate, is when I have tonsillitus, and the pennicillin pills are HUGE. So I can barely swallow at all due to a swollen throat, and then I have to swallow all these huge pills.

There are other not-so-fun ways to take pills, if you really wanna, Chassy__faerie.
I have never had a problem with swallowing pills. I do recall a series of occurances in which my brother would throw them behind his dresser and tell Mom he was a big boy and could eat them. heh..

I used to be unable to swallow pills as well. I didn't know there was more than one way to swallow them actually, hehe. Close-minded, aren't I? But I can't imagine not using a liquid of sorts to down the pills as well. I'm always afraid it will stick to my throat and choke me, or the like. Capsules tend to melt really fast, I notice. And stick.
Anyway, what I did when I was little that if it was a capsule, the powder would be taken out and mixed into some water or some other medicine I was taking at the time and giving that to me. If it was some other thing, it was grinded into a powder. That was disgusting though. I really hated the taste.
I think you just need to practice swallowing them. (I used to swallow small bits of food in my determination to be able to swallow pills. XP) Liquid probably does help a lot, since a person swallows liquid quite readily, as opposed to some big lump of a solid. I started out taking nearly a whole mouthful (literally full) of water and gradually got it down to less.
Oh, a trick that I and every person in my family does (which is probably why I thought there was only one way of swallowing pills) is that I put the pill(s) in my mouth, take a gulp of water and toss my head back when I swallow. Not violently, mind. It's a pretty quick action and it prompts me to swallow, at any rate.
I hope you do better with your pills.

I learned to swallow pills by putting the pill in some jelly or something that is swallowed easily and just push the jelly in your mouth with a spoon and there you go. Though I was tricked into the jelly thing by my grandparents. They knew I had a hard time with swallowing pills and I was staying with them for the weekend and I had to take a pill every night so I used jelly

way too many times. This is probably because of the lack of chewable pills. You see, I hate taking those pills that you have to swallow or else it tastes horrible. I have no idea how to swallow them. Sometimes it happens by accident, but often I end up either throwing the pill away or chewing it. >_<
Basically, I just want to know how you swallow these nasty pills, without trying over and over.

That's how I am.

Hm...I think I just found a way to swallow them. Problem is, we're out of jelly. Does pudding work just as well?
