Nevermind.
I give up.
You keep on saying stuff that makes no sense to me at all.

You're not being specific with your problem, therefore my help is limited to you.

Almost all plain text in IE is italicized, unless it's a specific font. I have this problem in AIM too. On my buddy list the screen names of people who are online are in italics, and this will sometimes happen in IMs. How do I fix it?

Edit: Figured out its just Arial thats doing it but I still don't know how to fix it.

I have a computer problem again. :x

When I am browsing webpages, like Microsoft.com to install a patch, something just re-directed me to a Search Engine! EVERYTIME I go to Microsoft and Google I get Re-Directed to that same Search Engine. I already scanned my computer with :

-Adaware
-Spybot Search & Destroy
-Hijack This
-Spysweeper

I delete the spyware, restart my computer, and the same thing happens again! :x

Help please.

I am in dire need to clean out my computer. I have 292 MB left, and that is very pathetic. I uninstalled all of my games and programs (ones which I never use) off my computer and deleted all of the images saved on my computer as well. However it has done very little. I don't know what's taking up the room. I have Kazaa Lite, but I don't think it can take up that much room. I used to have YIM but it's unistalled now and MSN 6.1 is left. Can anyone help me, in making more space?

For those who want to know, my computer is over 5 years old (hard drive).

If you have Windows, and the CD in your possession, this is all you have to do.

In Windows

Go to the Start menu, and find the MS DOS prompt. You should see something like this

C:Windows\ (or something:P)

type in 'format C:'

and you should see a confirmation message, press Y and go through with it. Then, reinstall Windows, and get back to using your computer.

In laymen's terms, what Dave is trying to say, is that if your monitor is working correctly, then you can change the BIOS from AGP to PCI. When most computers first turn on, they show the company logo, and say press F2 (or some other key) to enter Setup. Enter the Setup, and then just change the BIOS from AGP to PCI :D

And by the way, don't contradict Dave :D

Won't this uninstall all of my programs on my computer as in Kazaa, MSN 6.1 etc...?

And how much space will it actually free?

It would, but its one of the only ways to get your memory back easily. Though, if you have a CD burner, you could easily back up the files you want to save on a CD-R. It would free up all the memory that your computer came with.

It only displays for like half a second.
I can't push the button in that time.

Make sure you update the reference files. New reference files come out virturally every day, so you should get the latest ones in order to get rid of all the junk.

It would free up all the memory that your computer came with.

Remember not to confuse hard drive space with memory. Hard drive space != Memory.

Have you tried using Disk Cleanup in your Accessories > System Tools? Try deleting all Temporary files.

Yes, I have tried that many times. No luck whatsoever.

Go to the Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. You're able to see how much space a program takes up, and anything you think it too high you can uninstall. Just make sure it's not a program that's necessary for your computer to run correctly.

Also, if you have any MP3s, movies, etc on your computer then get rid of them. Most Mp3s are 3 mb+ and if you have a lot then they're a real space killer.

If all else fails then I suggest getting a new harddrive with more space. And how big is your harddrive?

Like Soujiro said, you would probably just want to make sure that you've update the refs for all the programs (Soujiro: Do they really come out every day? I'm not sure about Spysweeper, but I'm pretty sure Lavasoft's Adaware and Spybot don't update it every day. o_O .

Could you be more specific on the search engine? (What site, any name(s) that come up, etc.) =) There is plenty of spyware that redirects you to search engines like that one you have.

I can tell you ahead of time that if it's "Home Search Assistent" (no, that's not a typo on assistant =) ), the Adaware/Spybot/Spysweeper stuff won't get rid of it.

Can you scan with HijackThis and post the log?
