I think everyone I communicate with on the forums and on IM is like a pen pal. But that's just my way of thinking.

It's like....Wow! I've actually talked to someone on the other side of the world! It really is incredible if you site down and think about it. :)

I had one in the 3rd grade, but it was still within the US.

And this year I did email daily a girl from egypt... But i'm not sure if email counts.

Sort of.

I'm sponsering this girl through the Christian Children's Fund and we write back and forth. But it takes a while since she lives really far away.

I don't have one, but I really want one. I wouldnt even care if they lived in the same city as me, but I've always wanted a penpal.

I'm emailing someone through my Japanese class. We're writing to them in Japanese (with English translation), they're writing to us in English. I haven't gotten an email back yet, though. But the emails go somethingl like:

Hi! My name is (name here). I go to (school here.) I am in (grade here). I am (age here).

Etc. :P

I had several penpals through some programme when I took French in middle school. I now write to PPTers.

Eep, you have one in Sri Lanka? Hope s/he wasn't hit too hard by the tsunami. ><

I had one in grade 5 to a guy in St. Petersburg (teacher paired people up)...but I wrote only one letter to him, and he replied with one. Haven't kept in contact since, and I don't plan to; it's been 5 years.
