So my family hosted two Japanese girls for a week. On one day, they and the other students (four altogether) went to Disney World. When they came back, we asked them what they did. They said they rode Splash Mountain and Space Mountain. We asked them what else they did. They said that the tour guide made them go shopping. I feel so sad that they did not get to ride most of the rides at Disney. They come for the first time to America and go shopping and buy overpriced stuff, instead of going on rides like they said they wanted to do. They're gone now, but I still feel depressed that they were deprived of their experiences in America. What should I do to feel better?

Shopping is indeed a pointless waste of time in countries where the shops sell things more expensively than in your home country. Shopping should be reserved for trips to Thailand, China and such where goods are cheaper. I think the tour guide should have let them do what they wanted in Disney World.

Well, you could try writing or emailing Disney World telling them about how the tour guide wouldn't let them do what they wanted to do..

The only other thing I can think of that would make you feel better is blaring some music and dance aroung your room like a crazy person.

Well, the tour guide was from Japan, and was the translator for the trip. He wasn't affilated with Disney.

Yeah. Complain to Disney. They'll probably get the Japanese girls to come back to the states for free and spend the day at the park there and be special and stuff. My language arts teacher once complained to Disney about not getting a balloon or something and she got to be grand marshall in the parade XD.

Do you have the girl's e-mails or anything? Perhaps try getting some friendly correspondence going so even though they might not have got to do exactly what they wanted at Disney World they still got a neat new friend from Florida?

The lines for Splash Mountain are so long, I'm not surprised... well, unless you go Single Rider.

But honestly, Splash Mountain is one of the only things that made my Orchestra Disneyland trip last year worthwhile. People were pretty mean to me, and I was dead depressed for some reason I can't exactly fathom. Splash Mountain made it allllll up.

But... I dunno, the shopping thing is bull, man.

Did they buy electronics? Electronics are one of the only things worth while buying the US. ;) Electronics in Japan are very expensive, so I've been told. But it is quite sad that they didn't get to go on the rides.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

Sometimes, tour guides are affiliated with the stores that sell overpriced stuff. They advertise, "I can take you to Disneyland and translate for you and you'll have lots of fun," but may actually mean, "I can take you to Disneyland for about 4 hours and go on two rides with insanely long lines, then whisk you to those stores where I get a hefty comission if you buy stuff."

My cynicism is based on bad experiences with such tourguides..

Complain to Disney and the Stores. Somone will be affilated with this guy, as shown in Squinchy's post.

I went to DIsneyWORLD in florida, and splash mountain was SOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. Those rides were SOO boring. NOTHING was exciting.

But yeah, call up Disneyland and complain. Maybe call the tourguide's company and complain there too... ifyou can o.O;;; . Isn't there a Disneyland orsomething in japan too though? o.O;

Wow... that's bad. You could try to get the tour guide's name and report it. That's the best I can do, though.
