I know we've had this topic in the past, but here it is again.

Are you a vegetarian? If not, have you ever considered it? If yes, how strict are you?

I'm a strict lacto-ovo-vegetarian; have been since new year's, haven't lapsed yet. (And I'm in love with the UK's "Suitable for vegetarians" labels!) =)

I've tried to cover everything I can think of in the poll, but inevitably I've probably left something out.

I didn't put fruitarian in - I somehow think it's unlikely there will be any here. (No offense meant, of course, if there are!)

Dan, and anyone else who has given up meat for Lent - I'd say go with the 5th option. =)

((Edit)) By the way, this is the site I used to base the options on.

I'm not vegetarian. Sometimes I go through phases where I go without meat for a number of weeks so psychologically with respect to restraining myself I suppose it may be a possibility however, I enjoy eating meat too much to give it up. I've know plenty of vegetarians and vegans and as a result have been subjected to many stories on animal-based food products. I have total respect for anyone that has made a choice to not eat meat (and animal products if that be the case) and has stuck by it, it takes strength of character.

I'm too weak to do that :P . I'm a pretty fussy eater so if I cut meat out I wouldn't have much left that I could eat. I do know someone who is vegetarian though and she told me how hard it was for the first couple of weeks.

I'm a vegetarian because I believe it is sick and wrong to kill an animal to eat or wear. I'd rather wear a person.

Eh, I'm a carnatarian (yes, I know that's not real). I stay away from plants except for a select few. Hate em.

No, but I've considered it... I guess.
The only meat I eat is chicken, and I only eat it if it isn't in the form of a chicken... I just don't like knowing what part i'm eating.

Once i'm living on my own I'll be able to control what I eat, and stop eating meat completly.

I'm not a vegetarian, I like meat. I don't want to know the animal it came from (in person), or see bones and stiff, like chicken legs.
I don't like that they have to kill the animal for it, but it's tasty
I would have a hard time if I decided to become a vegetarion, I don't eat cheese or fish, so my diet would be very limited.

I've been a Vegetarian around a week before Cassi.

I can't remember who said that they're friend found going Vegetarian hard. It all depends on how much meat you actually eat. Especially 'proper' meat, such as a steak, burgers or sausages. If you eat alot of the previously listed, you're going to run into problems, probably feeling hunger every now and then. Even if you have just eaten. Things like spaghetti bolognase which only have a small fraction of meat, can easily be over come because here (UK) Quorn is a popular subsitute of meat and there isn't much different in texture/look. It tastes different. But not horrid.

Although, if you don't eat much meat generally. Going Vegetarian is easy. :)

Fish is meat; whether you eat it or not is irrelevant to a vegetarian diet.

That's one of my pet peeves. If you eat fish, you're a pescetarian, not a vegetarian. Fish is meat, it comes from a living animal.

Not really, I haven't eaten meat since Christmas. I just didn't actually talk to my mum about it until new year's. =P

I have nothing against vegetarians, but I very much enjoy meat and have no desire to stop eating it. I don't think it's something I would likely do.

I eat meat, but not much of it. I prefer chicken and sometimes turkey. Also pork sometimes, I don't eat beef much though. And no fish or seafood of any kind. And I have deer every once in a while, but other than that, that's all.

Nooo! I must have my meat, otherwise my selection of pizzas will be widely brought down! :o And that would be horrible! There would be no Pepperoni... or ham... or... or, whatever type of meat the pizza has.

And, if they are made right, I like hamburgers, too... if they aren't made right they are gross. But I still like them... and I am confusing.

I think its safe to say I am not a Vegetarian. ... I eat a lot of meat.

Medli's connection is, though. Once I was chatting with her, and left for a second to get some meat from the dinner, and right when I came back it disconnected her. :P

I'd consider "officially" beginning when one makes a concious effort to stop eating meat. =)
