I'm such a scaredy cat :P

Wed Feb 09, 2005 1:42 pm

I got home from work about an hour ago and I was just doing something upstairs when the phone rang. I went to pick it up and it stopped after two rings. That didn't worry me. What worried me was the answer machine saying that we were unavailable at that time and to leave a message. It beeped twice and then nothing. About twenty seconds later it happened again and by this time I was getting worried. A number of things were going through my head now. We were being pranked, some stranger was downstairs messing with the phone (I was alone in the house), all sorts of things. I was shaking and I cupped my phone over the phone, shaking ever so much, to catch whoever was at the end of the phone. It rang and my mom was at the other end of the phone.

"I just tried to ring you twice!" she said. "The answer machine must be playing up or something."

Hehehehe, worked up for nothing :P

Oh, I always do that. I used to be so paranoid at night, hold wee in and stuff so I didn't go upstairs, and if, when I was in bed, I heard a tiny creak, I automaticly assumed it was a mad axe-murderer.

You get over these things :)

Ahh yes. Just great. I'll embarrass myself here and tell you all about a few stories of mine.

I had a particuarly nasty nightmare one night and woke up all tense and scared. I heard something in my room creak and pulled the covers over my head, quivering. Then 2 minutes later, my bladder warned me that if I didn't get out of bed soon, my sheets and bed covers would need a wash the next morning. So, mustering all the courage I had, I pulled down the bed covers, and stared around wildy. I found out that the source of the noise was my revolving chair, which I pushed with my foot when I woke up. :roflol:

Another time, a few years ago, I heard a crash downstairs (ended up being a pot that fell of it's own accord) when I was alone at home. Now, at the time, I was upstairs reading. I heard the noise, almost soiled myself, then locked the door to my room till my parents came back. Thats the fear of a 10 year old. I was really paranoid that day as well, since only the night before, I watched some horror movie.

Ahhh.... feel free to laugh now :P

I do stuff like that all the time :P It's especially bad when it's like 2am and I'm on the computer, and I think I hear a noise. I go nuts, cause I know if it's my parents I'll be in heaps of trouble.

Of course, it's usually just the dogs ;P

tip: when you're home alone, don't visit Albino Black Sheeps prank flash files... those made sure i hid myself on the desk, with the radio pretty loud and always looking backward while trying to chat with people

I just watched the subliminal message one, with the lords prayer. When it did the scream I actually threw my screen away and it knocked over both the speakers. I couldn't stop laughing or shaking, thats what happens when I scare myself, I laugh uncontrolably.

But yeah, I just scared myself, while home alone, aswell ;)

I always get freaked out by the sounds of my cats puking, but that's because they're very odd noises that come from those little fuzzballs.

Haha, I always do that. It's usually midnight or later when I'm on the computer or watching TV, and it's dark and quiet, and I'm the only one up...I don't even need to see anything scary and for some reason I'm always looking behind me because I get a strange shiver up my spine. 90% of the time it's for no reason...but I'm a little weird when it's dark, it creeps me out. And I'm 16...I'm more of a scaredy cat than you :P

Well try to imagine me, I've been practically all alone in a big, dark castle these past few days. Sure, it's okay in day time, but now that I'm up late at night I'm feeling half-paranoid all the time.

Oh man, I'm actually a bit scared right now.

Bah! Yeah! I'm scared of mirrors at night too! Expecially very very large ones. (Like the one in my bathroom >.>) I'm both afraid of what it does show me and what it doesnt show me. >.>

I was reading in my bed once, I had closed my door, and it suddenly opened! I looked outside and no one was there to open it. Got scared half to death. >.>

Says he who has a habit of IMing me at 1am :P

Fri Feb 11, 2005 3:01 am

I've been known to scare the crap out of myself at night.... Of course, if I'm online and half asleep, the ding of an IM window will scare the crap out of me.

Fri Feb 11, 2005 7:31 am

Oh you aren't the only one that gets scared easily.
The screendoor on the front door doesn't close all the way sometimes.
So I'll be sitting back here at the computer doing my own thing... and then all of a sudden BOOM BOOM BOOM!
I mean it sounds just like someone banging like crazy on the front door.
My dogs start going ballistic.. and I'll start shaking like crazy.
I do build up enough courage (while still shaking like a leaf) to look out of the living room window to see if anyone is there.
Of course after some debating and being 80% positive that no one is out there.. I'll open the front door and then I'll see that it was only the screen door being opened and closed by harsh wind.
It's happened a couple of times and every single time it scares the bejebus out of me.
