so every year i splurge and try to make the most amazing costume ever.

In the past few years, i have been a bunch of cool things, sometimes a few things each year, because i couldnt make up my mind... lately, ive been a:

Blues Brother (tubby belly, official glasses/hat/sideburns and all... i was IDENTICAL)

Flying monkey from the wizard of ozz (you should have seen the wings... and cool vest and Abu Hat!

Sponge Bob *i made a GIGANTIC box that slipped over my body.... it was neato*

A tapdancing penguin.... the traditional fun image for a penquin. I had a cool tux on, but i sewed it to give it coat tales and i made myself penquin feet, colored my face like a penquin, and sculpted a beak over my nose that extended over my bottom lip... and a silver glittery top hat and cane.

Optimus Prime: When I got my job at Taco Bell, I found we had ALOT of giant boxes laying extra around, and i made a giant robot suit and put myself on some small stilt-like shoes.

so this year, its nothing that will be an AMAZING STUNNING costume, but if i play my cards right, it should be a bang.

Im going to be captain planet! Im paiting myself/dying myself blue, by whatever means necessary, and ill get the proper red gloves/boots/rubber underwear, ill make myself a utility belt, and im thinking i could get a cool light up half-globe thing and make a symbol out of it on my chest, and then of course, die my hair ugly forest green, and put on LOTS of glitter.

Best thing is, ive got friends to be PLANETEERS.

Ive got a girl whos got a latina look to her, and she looks JUST like that mexican kid with the "heart" ring, and ive got the blonde chick, the stubborn freckly kid, so now i have the African American Earth dude and the Asian Wind chick.... which we may have to be flexible with... and we are going to make cool vests and order T-shirts that look like the ones on the TV show!! IS THIS COOL OR WHAT!?!?

cool! one of my friends knows about them... i forgot all about them tho... im being a toy soldier, i took apart a skateboard so its just the deck, then im gonna duct tape that to my shoes.... then just buy camoflauge... its really gonna be a cool costume.. dont see how im gonna get up steps tho.... but anyway, your idea sounds really cool...

Oh my goodness I *heart* captain planet! Still find myself humming the theme song.

I'm going to be an angel this year. I bought the costume last year, but ended up on crutches on Halloween so I couldn't wear it. It's very pretty.

all I can say is I feel for your Latina girl o_o...looking like that kid, for a girl, isn't quite good

Nifty idea. Maybe to allow yourself to walk, duct tape just one of your shoes to the deck so that you can treat it sort of like an oversized boot/clownshoe/snowshoe for traveling (still awkward for getting up stairs, but not as bad as with both shoes attached to it), and then firmly plant your other foot on the deck once you're in position on someone's porch.

I still love Captain Planet. If you see anyone littering, you should get your Planeteers and run over to them and sing the Captain Planet song. "Looting and polluting is not the way; hear what Captain Planet has to say!"

I'm going to see what it takes to be a Pink Poogle, and maybe I'll dye an old ink bottle pink for kicks. Hee...

fancy dress costumes are great! and thats a really good idea. if you need to be painted blue you should get some face paint, as real paint will dry and crack and be VERY painful. i've had a number of smurf dressing up incidents between me and my friends, and the most successful was when we went to the early learning centre and bought a thing of blue face paint. i assume there will be shops where you are that sell the same.

Captain Planet!!!! Wow, did you know that he's my hero? Also, he will, apparently, bring pollution down to zero.

I JUST saw this back on TV the other day. The animation wasn't that great, the storyline was kind of weak, the jokes were pretty cheesy...

I loved it. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

First of all, awesome idea. ^_^ That's something I would love to actually get to see.

Second...You have reinserted the blasted theme song in my head. I get it stuck in my head all of the time, even though I haven't seen the show in 10 years. I had just gotten it out of there again. Curse you, Wonder Weezel!

Sounds cool! XD I'm hoping I can invite my 2 best friends over to my house so we can either go trick or treating or hand out candy (we haven't decided yet). I'll probably dress up as a witch (like always...there's nothing better to dress up as, though. It's kind of fun, too, I put on a lot of dark eyeshadow and this really dark lipstick XD). If we're going to hand out candy, we're planning on playing pranks on the trick-or-treaters that come to my house!

I used to LOVE that show. I always wanted to have a ring like that and be part of that team.
