Hi guys, Im back from Wales! I had a fantastic time and the weather...well, it was absolutely sweltering hot all week and we had not one drop of rain at all. The highest temperature was 28 drgrees C which is very hot, especially for the coast. In farenheit thats in the 80s I think.

I found out that I have an allergy to the sun, however, and it wasnt nice. On the last few days I had to cover myself up. I get a rash that looks similar to excma only redder. It itched like crazy and I still have it a bit now.

We went on the Friday (2nd June) because friends of the family were getting married on the Saturday and then going on holiday so we house sat for them and looked after their pets (including two sheep). We went for a meal on the Friday and then went to the wedding on Saturday. It was only a registry office wedding but it was great all the same. We then went to the reception that was at a resovoir.

A few days ago we were sat in the garden and all of a sudden my brother said to me and my mom "can you hear a swarm?" We could all hear it getting louder and louder. I looked over the hedgerow and found thousands upon thousands of bees flying up the path! It was so scary and in the end we all legged it back to the house.

Thats all I have to say right now but I will fill you in with other details when I remember them. I have so much trouble remembering things hehe. Yes, even fantastic holidays like the one I just had.

Hun, that's heat rash and sunburn, not sun allergy. If you were allergic to the sun (I can't remember the name of the actual condition even though I attended a seminar on it last year) you'd get angry red blisters from going out even in winter.

Heat rash is what you described. You're a pale ginger kid in sunny weather, it happens to them all :P

My mom used to be a nurse. I think she knows what shes talking about ;) I have heat rash a lot. In fact I have it now just from sitting in a room that is 27 degrees C in temperature. What I had was a lot worse and it was really painful. Plus, my nan suffers from the same condition and shes dark skinned. Its a hereditory thing. My two cousins suffer from it too. It was horrible seeing all these people in skimpy little outfits with beautiful tanned skin and I had these horrible red patches all over my body. It wasnt just red either, it was lumpy and scaly, like excma like I mentioned. It sure didnt do a lot for my confidence, thats for sure ;)

Oh, I will be uloading photos of the holiday soon, when I get them developed. Cant wait to show them to you all :)

Well, no offence, but sun allergy as such doesn't exist. Some people are hypersensitive to UV light which means they have to go outside in special clothes, or not go out at all. And that ain't you. Your mum was probably trying to explain it to you in simple terms.

Okay, so I got sunburned. I don't want to argue about this.

You don't want beautifully tanned skin. It'll wrinkle faster when you get older xP

I'm glad to hear you had a great time, and welcome back ^^;

I'm betting thousands of sun worshippers don't know about that little fact, then. They'd keep out of the sun otherwise XD

Welcome back Ginger! It sounds like you had a splendid time in Wales. I wish I could go on vacation right now, but I have to wait until mid-August when I'll *hopefully* be going to Florida. Sounds like you had a mild case of sun poisoning, which is not fun at all. I believe that I have had it as well. Some people have to go to the hospital when they have reactions like that. Sounds like you were luck and had it not so bad. I hope you recover from the sun soon!
