Shut down any programs you have running that are not needed. If that doesn't help, you may need to buy and install more RAM.

Looks like your screen goes on standby whenever you get on the comp. I think you can change when your monitor turns off by going into Control Panel. But I'm not entirely sure if that's what needs to be done in your case.

Your screen most likely can't support the resolution or the refresh rate set for that resolution. This is caused by either a recent change in video settings or a corrupt video driver.

What you can do is boot into safe mode and change your video settings by decreasing the resolution to 800x600, then restart your computer.

Whenever my friend tries to surf the internet, the error message "Your current security setting prohibit the use of Active X controls on this page. As a result, the page may not display correctly" appears all the time, so he's unable to surf the internet. He's tried changing the security setting to the lowest on everything but still doesn't work. I guess it's because we don't know the specific setting that we must change...

I'm pretty sure that you'd have to. Did you do what Soujiro suggested?

Gone, forever.

A couple of days ago we reformatted our computer to clear out all of the stuff we weren't using that was just taking up space. We got everything we need back on, but there's something wrong with the sound. I downloaded the correct driver for it, but the only way I can ever hear it is if I turn my volume up to max, and then the sound's REALLY fuzzy. Oh yeah, the sound is up to max in the play control thingy too. Help, anyone?

Okay, so there's a trojan horse file where I can't delete it, access to the file is denied. It's in C:/windows. How do I get rid of it?

Depending on what browser you use (IE I'm betting), Click on View>Text size>medium. It should fix it.
