Like when you're talking to someone in person, do you usually say things like "JK" "LOL", etc?

I know when I'm with my friends someone will say "JK" (most people I know say that anyway because of habit) and I'll say "LOL" and "smiley face". Lame, I know. But do you do it because of habit?

I catch myself saying 'lol' sometimes.

My friend Alex & I once had a verbal conversation in text type...that was funny, lol.

If I am feeling nerdier than normal or talking computers, I may use lol and other chatspeak to mess with people.

I say face names but nothing other than that. Like if I'm angry, I'll say "angry face angry face"

No I don't as I use normal speaking English in the real world.

The only time I use internet speaking is on forums where there are no emoticon smilies on the forum e.g GameFAQs. (with the exception of BTW and IIRC)

I say "LOL" sometimes, but mostly a bit sarcastically.

I also say "BRB", but only to geeky people who'll know what it means... and "for the win", "oh em gee" and "ORLY??" occasionally too :)

Edit: Come to think of it, I guess I like the ones that you can actually pronounce as word/s (eg. "BRB" = "burrrb"), because it's annoying to have to say the spelled-out ones (eg. "FTW").

Only sarcastically. Everyone I know IRL is boring, so even if they say something like roffle, I can't be really sarcastic and go 'lollerskates' or 'rofflecopter' because they'll just look at me blankly and be all '...yeah, whatever.'

I wish I knew cool people offline. :(

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

I use "lol" "roffle" and "rofflecopter", but I only use them in reply to someone telling me something obvious or saying something stupid. Oh, and I use "ORLY" too, but you can't really tell since it sounds exactly the same anyway.

Alex, you aren't allowed to use those terms, that's why everyone is "confuzzled" by it!

I don't think so. I'll usually think out what it's an abbreviation for when I see something online anyway, so it wouldn't make sense to say out the letters while talking in real life. Well, there are a few exceptions. Like irl, as I realised as I just went and almost typed it and thought I-R-L :P. And lol I say as lawl, and brb sometimes as burb. It just doesn't make sense to say them out in real life. It doesn't save time, is more confusing, and just sounds kind of dumb.

Then again, I hardly ever talk to people in real life anyway.

Only OMG, in a very ironic sense. So no.

I hate to admit it, but I have been known to say "brb" in real life. It's less syllables than "I'll be right back".

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.
