Check out this story. This is insane. I knew that people who different colored hair got ribbed playfully bu to actually ostracize someone to this extent? Holy...

I hope this is sensationalized.

To be quite serious, I have never seen discrimination like this against 'ginger' haired people. Blondes get it the worst where I live. My cousins a red head, so's my grandmother and neither (and i've asked) have ever remembered being teased about being red haired. Things like this just make me tilt my head. Generally in a case like this i'd assume there's something more going on then them simply having red hair.

That's disgusting. It's amazing what people will single out about others just to be able to hate them for it.

One of my best friends has naturally reddish hair, but she always dyes it. It's such a beautiful color so I asked her why she hides it. Apparently, when she was growing up, she was horribly teased about it. They used to call her something I don't think I can repeat here. (Suffice to say Lindsay Lohan was called it in reference to her hair color.)

I've never personally seen anyone making fun of someone with ginger hair. I think ginger hair is beautiful.

I was made fun of most of my life for being a ginger. if it wasnt the bright red hair then it was the freckles and pale skin (and the fact that I cant tan. i have 2 colours...burned and white).

i actually started dying my hair in middle school. I became a blond because they were more accepted and guys liked blonds (or so I was told). It wasnt until about 5 different hair colours later that I realized how much I loved my red hair. It made me stand out because few people are blessed with being a ginger.

i will never understand why gingers are picked on...we're really no different than anyone else.

That's ridiculous. I know a girl who has some of the reddest and most beautiful hair I've ever seen. People really need to grow up.

Hm. I seriously doubt this. It's more likely the family are being victimised for different reasons, as well as having red hair. I don't really buy the fact that the boy was beaten up for being ginger, I really don't.

Mind you, it is Newcastle-Upon-Tyne...

I've been bullied because of it, as has my brother, although there was only to two of us as opposed to four kids.

There's more redheads up here in Scotland, but there's still the prejudice.

Red hair rocks. Does anyone remember in Australian Gladiator they had that chick gladiator with the red hair? She was a firewoman and they called her "Flame".

I know people get bullied for being ginger as children, heck "Carrot" was one of my mates in school but I can't see why adults would bully children for having red hair.

That is just ridiculous. I've seen people made fun of, but this is just too far. This makes me glad I have brown hair.

The world is what you make it. What I find sad is that people concentrate on all the bad in the world, and look too much at the negative. There's so much good, so many people trying to do good in the world. Why can't we concentrate on that some times?
