Every Gen-Xer should be able to answer this question. Since the OJ Simpson mess resurfaced this week, a lot of people have been telling me they can remember what they were doing when the low-speed car chase involving Simpson and his white Ford Bronco interrupted a big basketball game. I was too young, but my parents remember it.

Oh, and does anyone have a good video of it? I want to see it as well, and not a Youtube "highlights" version.

I have no idea where I was. What I remember most is the discussions in school about it, and then of course, the one frame comic that my mom had posted on the fridge (and still does, I think), that had a picture of a restaurant filled with people, and a waitress holding a pitcher, asking one customer "More OJ?" and everyone else is yelling "NO!!!"

I'm part of the echo boomers (1975-1994). I was born in 84.

and I remember the chase pretty well because it was a riot! He wasnt even driving that fast!!!! I remember sitting there thinking "how can they NOT catch him...he's going like 75!".

but its amusing that he's on trial again. For once I wish there wasnt such a thing as double jepordy...because with advances in science and a new trial they might actually be able to convict him for the murders (yes, I think he killed them). But that trial is closed and can never be reopened.

I was reading comic with my brother when the chase started. We then went to the living room and watched the chase as a family. Awwwww!

For the dang trial... Ours was the only dang class in the whole dang school that didn't watch it live! I know I wasn't the only one in the class that was mad. (That was back in 6th grade for reference).

oh man that sucks! our classes came to a screeching halt to watch it, which really didnt have anything to do with what we were learning. even my gifted classes stopped to watch it.

& then came the glorious chewbacca defense.

I didn't watch the chase. I was angry because if i'm not incorrect, it interupted with TGIF friday nights, and I do believed I missed Family Matters (the greatest show Urkel was ever in!) because of that chase. Blech. We did follow the story though and I was pretty peeved when he got off for the murder. It was a whole debacle.

Now then, refresh my memory Marching Duck (who was born in the same year I was), what was the chewbacca defense?

What I want to know is where the jury's brains were at when they said he was innocent.

I don't remember at all. I was young then, and I may have seen him on television but I didn't care.

And I wonder how they're feeling after hearing his latest fiasco (It's my word of the day apparently). It strikes me as mind numbingly stupid to declare him innocent and watch all his latest crimes unfold on television. Really, really sad. But that's me stating an opinion, I'm not debating here.

At a guess?
Wistfully imaging what they will spend all that money on.

Allegedly, of course.

All I remember about the beginning of the OJ Simpson case is my sister saying there was nothing on tv except the Simpson thing, and I got all excited thinking it was The Simpsons, not understanding why we weren't watching it.

*reads linked Wiki article* Chewie doesn't live on Endor...O_o

None of these posts have quite helped me to figure out the answer to the question that I always have when I read these kinds of topics, which is this: what the heck are you guys all talking about? I'm an unfortunate victim of "I'm always the last to know" syndrome, which means I never know about anything that goes on, which means people have to explain to me.

So, um, could someone please tell me what this is all about?

Dunno. I was too young. I just remember hearing about it every night when my mom watched the news.
