Ha, a few months from now no one will be talking about this marvelous discovery...why? They'll pay these people off or kill them or something.
Who is "they?"

I heard someone [who?]figured out how to make a car run on water years ago and they paid the guy big money to keep his invention to himself and not talk about it.
A car that runs on water? There is no way that could possibly work. It's chemically impossible.
Besides, if he kept it to himself, how did you find out about it?

And if they ever find a cure for a disease they pay those people off too, because the pharmaceutical companies want to keep you just well enough to buy pills for the rest of your miserable life, but not ever be cured.
Then how do you explain antibiotics, vaccines, and chemotherapy?

And the big oil people want you to be dependent on them and never ever have it easy.
If "big oil" thought this idea had any potential at all, they would buy it and use it themselves. So far, these guys can produce one barrel of oil per WEEK, and that's assuming the bacteria (they aren't really bugs) don't eat the oil they produce (most fossil fuels secreted by the Earth are quickly eaten by bacteria; the only oil that survives is deep underground in high-pressure, high-heat hydrocarbon traps).
