What Songs, TV Shows and Movies do you think have changed the world? I think that Do They Know It's Christmas? and Bohemium Rhapsody have changed the world, but thats just me.

I don't quite understand, what exactly do you mean by 'change the world'?

A song that changed the world was Stairway To Heaven.

I think The Simpsons definately changed the way people look at animation. Back when it first started, something like that had never been seen before.

And speaking of Monty Python, I also think that Monty Python And The Holy Grail changed the world as now no-one can do a medievel movie without thinking of Monty Python And The Holy Grail. I was actually reading a review in Empire the other day with the guy who played Galahad in King Arthur and he said that The Holy Grail was always in the back of his mind during filming.

And by changed the world, I mean it influenced it. Like Monty Python really changed the way people looked at things, and it even spread to Margaret Thatcher.

Life of Brian stirred up great controversy in places because people thought they were mocking Jesus. But it wasn't actually a film about Jesus (although he features briefly) it's about a guy who gets mistaken for Jesus. Silly pompous people looking for something to get offended by (which I NEVER do ;))
All in all I'd say the Pythons had a pretty big impact ^^

Meaning of Life... my dad's from Yorkshire... everytime someone mentions Yorkshire...yeah.

Oh, good answer. =)

Seems like everyone has made good responses so there really isn't anything I can think of off the top of my head.

Although you did say songs, I was thinking that The Beatles made a pretty big impact on music. o_O

I hear that Farenheit 9/11 movie is one of those movies "everyone has to see". I haven't seen it myself, but maybe that could be under the movie category.

TV Shows? Anything reality tv...

Lord of the Rings :P

It changed the way the world sees New Zealand (as in: 'Hey, theres a country called New Zealand + they can find it on a map now too).

I wouldn't say Passion of the Christ had any impact whatsoever on NZ though, nobody went to see it, nobody cared really. We were all too busy mocking his holocaust denying father...

Actually, he said mocking a holocaust denier, which is an entirely different thing from mocking god. Moving swiftly on from that, people;

LOTR had a definite impact for NZ'ers. And Whale Rider proved that it wasnt just a one off.

I think a lot of shows have had impact on society; thats to say that one on its own was not hugely revolutionary but rather their efforts combined helped change the world dramatically. The News media has opened up the world to us in ways our ancestors never could have dreamed of.

I forgot to mention A Clockwork Orange and Jimi Hendrix.
