Nguyen? That's the last name of one of the kids in my class. Why did the teacher call him Michael in the email?

The email's in reference to the multiple-choice test right below the essay.

Not really. Pythagoras Theorem is a well-known fact in mathematics, and practically everyone knows that 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2.

But... it's true, it is rather elementary knowledge. That's like saying plants contain chlorophyll, or blood contains red blood cells and white blood cells. It's just stuff that's really well-known?

No snobbiness intended though.

Pythagorean Theorem =/= Red&White blood cells.

Pythagoras was developed independently across the world, being an outstanding mathematical property. Biological things aren't as obvious. Now if you were to equate it to prime numbers or the fibonachi sequence....

*deftly guides back ontopic*

I once approached a limit question in year 11 calculus by equating the equation to the tire recycling dependent economy of.... i can't remember. very random country though. The variable i had to find was represented in the economy by the amount of rain, so I said x = any real number.

Which was the right answer. Full marks!
