Okay, I'll show you a series of numbers. Add them up, one after the other. But do it in your head, not on paper or with a calculator. Add the numbers as you scroll down, and try not to dawdle. Saying the answers out loud may also help :P Lets see if your mind is tricked as easily as mine was. (sorry for the vertical stretch mods, but it's necessary.)

Huh, I got 4100...

I'm going to ask a couple of friends to do the same thing and see if they get 5000.

Oh! I think I just figured out why we get 5000 instead of 4100.

With all the >>>> making all the numbers seperated, and the thousands in odd places, when we reach 100, instead of counting it as 100, we make it a thousand in our heads. Or something.
