Wow... the other day I read this joke that shockingly mathced this one for lameness. :D

Q: Why doesnt a tank engine like to sit down?
A: Because it has a tender behind.

A tank engine has a car full of coal, also called a "tender" behind so that it can get enough steam and such to run.
