Yes...to a certain extent. Non player characters sell up to level 40 weapons and armour. I think it's up to 40. Some shops may sell higher...I'm not certain. But not all higher level equips can be bought.

How do I get to the next island and when should I think about leaving?

You go to Ellinia and at the upper right corner, go to the station. You then pay 5000 mesos to get a one way ticket to Ossyria [you'll arrive in Orbis [which is part of the continent Ossyria]]. Stay inside the ship because if a Crimson Balrog shows up, the touch damage will murder you and send you back to Ellinia with no money refunded. You'd then have to fork over another 5000 mesos if you wanted to try going to Ossyria again. From the Orbis train station, you could take a 6000 mesos one way trip to Ludibrium. This is a safe trip so you don't need to hide inside the cabin during the voyage or anything. If you're in the higher levels and you'd like to save money, you can go the long way by clambering down Orbis Tower and going through Aqua Road. At the end of Aqua Road, you'll end up at Korean Folk Town. In Korean Folk Town, you'll find an elevator that goes up to Ludibrium. I hope that explains everything.

If the other islands don't have better equipment, where the heck are people getting all their cool stuff?

Monsters drop most of the higher levelled equipment. It really depends on the equipment. Of course, the chance of this is pretty slim so expect outrageously high prices.

The free market is just a mess to navigate and I don't have near the amount of mesos people are asking for things.

Yeah, steer clear from the crazy psychoes at free market. Maybe, once in a while, there's a good deal...but mostly it's crazily overpriced.

Last question, how much are workman's gloves really worth?

If you're talking about work gloves [the white gloves with an average of 2 defence], they should be around 10-20K according to Basilmarket, which is a pretty good site in terms of selling stuff. It's not necessarily the best site but it's okay. The really crazy prices you see are scrolled gloves probably. A clean [nothing done to it glove] is pretty worthless. A 3 defence work glove might be worth more though.

Sorry for all the questions.

It's alright...Answering them makes me feel semi-productive...which is good :D

Other people are welcome to answer. This is just my perspective :]

MapleSEAwise (For those who also or only play MapleSEA) you pay 60,000 mesos to get a one way ticket to Ossyria (Orbis) and 40,000 mesos to get a one way ticket to Victoria Island (Ellinia).

This makes a return trip to Ossyria and back (or Victoria Island and back) ten times cheaper on gMS.

Considering refraining from playing MS until I get my new computer.
That should be sometime after the 4th of July.

Who thinks I can make it? xDD

Anyone else get a Maple wedding invite from Cheeryplant? After getting a spare slot in my etc inventory and logging out and back in I got this message from the wedding invitation.

Majih & Cheeryplant would like to request your company to witness their marvelous marriage in MapleStory.

It's a bit late now. Hehe, I went to the wedding in the early hours of the morning, a wonderful time was had by all, I think. I've never been to a wedding before, so it was pretty exciting. :D

I think the whole Maple Wedding concept is rather strange, but I would like to go to one just to see how it goes. Don't you have to know the bride and groom to get an invite?

Cheeryplant is actually a member here :] Fwee whee

And...not necessarily...sometimes people invite random people to their weddings

*nods*
There were quite a few whispers from random people wanting to come.
e.g:
"Hey, can i come?" or "INVITE ME PLZ."
Needless to say, it got a little annoying after awhile :P

Question about the cash shop . . with the new implementation of NeoCash it got me thinking, I remember reading on some of the Cash Shop items that they expire after 90 days and I always thought that meant they will only be available in the cash shop for 90 days but does that mean you only have the item for 90 days and they go poof after that? If the later is correct, it will really dissuade me from buying anything from the cash shop. My husband is already against using real money to buy virtual items as it is. I had to go behind his back to buy Gaian pixies :D  . . .

Congratulations on the wedding :D by the way

------

The items remain in cash shop until the end of time MapleStory. They do however only last 90 days. Then, they expire and Nexon encourages you to renew them by forking over more money :].

------

For anybody on PPT that is not on Randomness, recently with donations from Tom and Laq, I've managed to expand the guild to 20 members and we now have enough funding for an emblem. We're planning on taking a vote before we go ahead and get it since at 5 million mesos, it's not cheap.

Henesys Site for Guild Emblems
I based most of my findings for the emblems here and I also made a picture of what I like [it's 500 by 500 pixels [though mostly it's empty if you want to add on to the list]]

What Syrill likes so far
Just a note here: The black background does not come with the emblem. I could have removed the black background but I think it really would detract from the quality of the icons so I just left them :O [yes I'm lazy...:(]

Even if you're not in the guild, you can put input if you wish :]. All help is welcome.

I like #14. It looks like a pig that just found out that its going to be dinner.
#9 is pretty too.
Most of them remind me of guilds that ive already seen.

In other news, I finally hit level 80 on my priest. :D

I sort of went through them rather quickly, but some random ones that caught my eye:

Though to be honest, I'm not partial to anything. xD

Looks silly. Of course, we'll be getting that area in about 3-4 years.
If ever.
