Nah, I'll honest here and I'll say that Xbox 360 will be something great if they pull it off. Especially the fact that you can play against WinXP users or something like that.
But, Sony is also introducing Sony Online, which I heard will be cheaper than Live, and offer more features. I doubt the more features part, but I'm pretty sure it will be cheaper. Oh and, PS3 will use Blu-Ray which holds 200 gigabytes. The 360 uses HD-DVD which holds a meagre 40 gigabytes.
Now, I heard rumours about the Nintendo R. Soething about touch sensitive controllers and voice recognition. Nintendo are planning something huge here, and I reckon gamers everywhere should be ready for one heck of a shock.
TOKYO / LAS VEGAS, May 10, 2005 – Toshiba Corporation today announced development of a triple-layer HD DVD-ROM (read-only) disc with a data capacity of 45 gigabytes
How much data can you fit on a Blu-ray disc?
A single-layer disc can fit 23.3GB, 25GB or 27GB.
A dual-layer disc can fit 46.6GB, 50GB or 54GB.
To ensure that the Blu-ray Disc format is easily extendable (future-proof) it also includes support for multi-layer discs, which should allow the storage capacity to be increased to 100GB-200GB (25GB per layer) in the future simply by adding more layers to the discs.

That, and the fact that all the casual gamers seem to be leaning more to Xbox, because of the fact that it manages to sponsor itself in music and movie events. It makes itself look cooler, purely because it's aligned with celebrities.
And me, I hate this kind of advertising, and I hate being one to follow the crowd wherever they go. And so far, that's what Microsoft are doing. They're associating the 360 with the new and cool thing, that all celebrities play 24/7, which you would look like a idiot for not playing. That's why, out of morals, I will never buy an Xbox, or an Xbox 360. If I win one in a competition, goodie joy, but I'll never buy one.

Did you actually believe Sony when they said that? Need I pull out the "Toy Story" quote?
I agree, but I won't take it any further than saying that the years of gaming are priceless when everyone can call them self the "1337 G4M3R!" because they are all the best at Halo.

My friend at school will buy a PS3 so that he can run Linux off it, because he says it's a better system to use than a PC! A PC!.

Too bad a good computer will always be superior to the consoles.

Personally, I don't just believe it, I know it. 360 will be good, true. Revolution will be good, true. But the PS3 itself will be the more powerful console. It's coming out after the 360, meaning that unless Microsoft can pull out something truely unbelievably and ahead of the times, Sony will have the upperhand technology-wise (role reversal anyone?).
Then there's the rumours that developers are saying that the PS3 is a lot easier to develop games for than the 360 (role reversal again?). So there's a good chance devs will be choosing PS3 over 360.
Face it, even some of the most die hard Xbox fans are admitting that the PS3 will be more powerful. The tech-people from gaming and computers magazines wordwide are admitting that ther PS3 is more powerful than the 360. My friend at school will buy a PS3 so that he can run Linux off it, because he says it's a better system to use than a PC! A PC!.
The Revolution is an unknown, but judging by Nintendo's track record, it's safe to assume that it'll be the least 'powerful' of the three (I may be wrong, but I doubt it).
So tech wise: PS3 > 360 > RevI agree, but I won't take it any further than saying that the years of gaming are priceless when everyone can call them self the "1337 G4M3R!" because they are all the best at Halo.
Well, I'll give Microsoft the credit of admitting that Halo is a pretty good game. And Halo 2. But I don't find much else that's really that awe-inspiring or attention-grabbing.
But yeah, the evils of advertising. Fear it.
