Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Right now, my dad and I are playing Splinter Cell: Chaos theory. I need some help.
Im on the second mission and there is a guy named Jong that we need to interrogate. My problem is that we can't get behind him to capture him without killing him, knocking him out, or getting shot ourselves. -_- This is very frustrating, so if someone could tell me how in the world to get him, please tell me!

I saw this game at the store, couldnt get it because my parents think it is too close to Christmas.
