Gamers of the world unite, Winter-een-mas is upon us!

Sat Jan 07, 2006 3:07 am

Many of you probably haven't heard about the upcoming gamers' holiday. Winter-een-mas is a wonderous thing. It is a celebration of video games and the gaming community, gift-giving isn't encouraged but LAN parties and multiplayer get-togethers are. The holiday was started a couple of years ago by the ctrl-alt-delete online webcomic.
For more info ask me or simply go to http://www.wintereenmas.com

Hope this doesn't break any forum rules, if so, let me know asap and I will ammend.

Pretty much. Also it is suggested that you write to the creators of your favourite game(s)/consoles etc. thanking and congratulating them.
Wear your favourite game-related t-shirt. Have a LAN party. Organise team events on online games. Deck the halls with spare cables and controllers even.

The Winter-een-mas season is all of January, but Winter-Een-Mas takes place over the last week of it.

Yep. And it's tradition to stick a games console controller to a stick, and keep it with you when you're playing games.

And yea, you encourage other to play Video Games with you, and you play them yourself.

I just got through celebrating Feast of The Winter Veil on WoW, you think I'm going to show myself as even more of a nerd by celebrating this? :P

Count me in.

They do a bit, but the current one about someone trying to steal winter-een-mas looks like it's gonna be a doozy.

Winter-een-mas starts today!

Woot! I shall play DQ8, and Fable:TLC and CoD2... oh, the list goes on.

Yeah it has done, the ending looks like its going to be a real bore. I preffered CAD as just simple jokes in maybe 1-2 strip storylines, nothign as long as lately

The animations look cool though

I shall celebrate by carrying various video game related trinkets with me, to make up for the fact that I can't be playing a game all the time.

I'll probably spend the large majority of my time playing my DS.... Animal Crossing. w00t.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 10:05 pm

I'll probably be playing Animal Crossing (GC), Soul Calibur 3 (PS2), Dynasty Warriors 5 (PS2), and various other games I can find to play I've got plenty of time . x_x
