Zelda: Twilight Princess

Why was there no thread for this? XD Though I have nothing much to add (dont have it yet, grah) I think this game needs a thread of its very own. <3 So yeah, talk or something XD

I guess all I have to ask is, is it worth waiting for to play it on the Wii (which I most likely will not get until SSBBrawl comes out, maybe even further down the line cause it costs so much) or should I just get it for the Gamecube? The bow and arrow & etc aiming looks like a lot of fun, but kind of annoying too.

I watched a friend play it on GameCube a couple weeks ago. It looked like a really cool game to play. He made it sound like it was one of the better games he's played recently too. I don't know anything about it on the Wii though.

I played, and finished it, within about 2-3 weeks of getting my Wii (got it at the midnight Aussie launch).

It isn't very different from using a GC controller, except the aiming's a lot easier imo (i was teeeeerrible at aiming the bow and arrow in OoT).

But since I haven't played the GC version (and probably never will) I'm not really gonna offer opinions on which is better...

On the game as a whole... I thought it was awesome. The horse riding is soooooo fun! Like OoTs (and i fired my N64 up years after finishing it just to ride around the field for a few mins) except even better (more places to go, can use almost all items while on horse, enemies chasing you on the fields). I think its a wonderful addition to the LoZ series, finally bringing it back into the realism of OoT.. and playing through familiar places and fighting familiar enemies which look soooo awesome after their updates is just wonderful. ^____^

The game's own unique element, of the Twilight Realm and Link's Wolf form, are also worthy additions to Link... Hero of Time, Hero of Masks, Hero of Wind.. and now Hero of Light! :D

I have it for the Wii and I have never played it on GC, but I wouldn't imgaine it's that much different. The sword-slashing on the Wii is good fun, but it is not needed to fully enjoy the game. I'm sure anyone would prefer the game on the Wii, but if you really want to play it and don't want to wait until you get a Wii, you won't be missing out on too much if you get it for the GC.

Using the wiimote for aiming and things is pretty fun, and very natural when it comes to things like using the slingshot and fishing (I haven't used a bow and arrow yet though).

I'm still getting used to waving it around to do the normal attacks though ... it could be just because I see the graphics and go into "Zelda: OoT" mode, but it takes me a few extra seconds to remember how to attack something, at the moment.

As Messs and others said, you probably wouldn't be missing out on too much on the GC. You can kinda tell that the game wasn't solely designed for the Wii, anyway :)

Slightly off-topic... I <3 Midna. She's such an awesome (and unique) character!

And she gets even better as you play on too. She's so much more preferable to Navi, or Korl *shudders*. She's all snarky and has her own agenda. :D

Wow, Twilight Princess is also out for the GC? I didn't realize that. I'm thinking about getting it because I have a GC and I haven't touched it in almost a year.

I loved OoT (I used to play it all the time at my friend's house), so it's good there's some elements of it in this game.
