Does anyone remembers
The Neverhood or
Grim Fandango?
They may have received critical acclaim and you didn't expect that much from them. But they are simply the gems who buried in the mountain of bargain bin games. :-D
I always liked point-and-click adventure games with in-joke references and slapstick humour. They always have high scoring review from me. So, how about you? What's your choices for underrated games? :-)
edit: Perhaps it's not just only underrated games, how about the good old games like
Sim Tower? ..or
The Lost Vikings?
Aaahh, they bring back memories. :-D

All my favorites are overrated.

All of the older Sims games like SimTown, SimSafari, SimPark...and my personal favourite, SimAnt (yes, Ant. Don't knock it 'til you try it. I learned a lot about ants from that game...XD), plus DemonStar, which is full of epic win.

How old and how underrated can I go before you start yelling at me?

Eek! Wait a second! SIM TOWER! I loved that game! That's all I did at computer camp!

When I was young, I never made it to 4 stars. But now, I easily made it to the Tower level! ..well not, considering the Sim masses will put up your tower for sale at one point, which frustrates me. I love how extremely addictive this game was and it still is! Definitely not a game for the impatience. ;-)

I HAD THAT COLLECTION OF SIMS!!!
Don't lie, I know exactly what you're talking about (they were all sold in this deluxe package, right?). I wasted many countless hours playing SimSafari. SimAnt was weird, but fun too.

Whoo! *high five*
I have SimSafari, SimTown, SimPark, SimAnt, Widget Workshop...and I swear there are more.
But SimPark and SimAnt were my favourite.
Oh. D-cha forgot one.
Mini Car Racing. That was a pretty epic game.
I also learned if you adopt the last name of one of the racers, that racer goes easier on you.
Which to this day is why I still race as Molli Maverick. XD

The only mildly underrated games I have are probably Resident Evil 0 and Code: Veronica. Nobody seems to like them as much as the rest of the series.

Vandal Hearts I-
Breath of Fire III-
Dragon Crystal-
Ys (Master System)And probably a whole lot more that I can't think of right now.

My boyfriend downloaded Ys from Wii's virtual console and it looks amazing! I want to play it when he's done.

And SimCinema. And yes, SimAnt was awesome. From what I remember, it was difficult killing spiders because they just rolled into a ball. Tricky blighters.
There was a dinosaur park game that was awesome. I don't think it was a Sim game.

It's not very old, but I'm pretty much the only person I know who played Amazing Island. Pity, too, there's a lot of replay value in it.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours - Sega Genesis.
That is all.
