starcraft is dead, long live dawn of war!

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/wh4 ... 00905.html
with the beta on general release (would get it, but i shouldna thought my computer would run the game anyways? we'll see) the general consensus on the game is thusly: starcraft is dead, long live dawn of war!
(im personally waiting to play out the battle depicted in an old piece of art from Epic, a bloodthirster, and an eldar avatar whailing on eachother, while the massed armys of beil tan (pronounced bel tain strangly) battle the daemonic hoardes of the blood god: khorne (hehehe khorne on the cob)

edit: adding the later stuff, because im sure anyone else interested doesnt want to read the personal attacks on me.

and because im bored i shalt post the link to the ingame videos (dont let the poor qaulity fool you, though i should warn most are in the region of a megabyte in size)
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/wh4 ... media.html

and the offical sites description of the imperium, chaos, the orks, and the eldar (because frankly, i cant be bothered to explain it, you either know it already, dont care, or will go there anyway) http://www.dawnofwargame.com/races/
(creepy as, music too boot)

and i shall take this note to qoute eldrad ulthran, farseer of ulthwe

Uhh... man starcraft isn't dead it's just full of jerks. and Counter Strike owns that other game you were talking about.

I don't think any RTS game will ever beat Starcraft's fun gameplay.

I don't even play Starcraft and I know that its nowhere near dead. Its still extremely popular. I don't see it dying down soon either.

Mon Aug 16, 2004 8:02 pm

Dude, Starcraft owns most other games of its genre. It's long from dead.

Mon Aug 16, 2004 8:33 pm

Starcraft is still one of the most played RTS games in the world. xD

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to DoW. I don't really expect much though, all of the previous Warhammer-related computer games were awful. And the Warhammer MMORPG got cancelled a while ago.

Playing the game IRL is much more fun. :P

the warhammer mmrpg, was cancelled because the companie making it where sucking cash from GW to fund their own mmrpg (so sayeth a manager who quit in disgust)
not that we care anyway.
oh, and how did dark omen suck?
final liberation?
chaos gate?
rites of...well okay that did suck.
and fire warrior wasnt ALL bad.
still that "other game" (i sence we havent played it then) has a much more interesting background than the golden oldi starcraft (and seeing as blizzard WERE sued by GW for the zerg, as they are a blatant rip off of the tyranids)
but still, the fewer starcraft fanboys we have on the servers (or god forbid, counterstrike) the better i guess.
starcraft is dead (C&C, died a long time ago) long live dawn of war, and relic obiously.

If Korean television broadcasts Starcraft tournament matches, I highly doubt Starcraft is dead.

besides, magic the gathering used to get (and will soon get again) TV coverage on the grand prix tours, and they are NOT fun events i can tell you.
but i digress, guess anyone who thinks starcraft is the best RTS isnt worth my time anyway (homeworld anybody?)

To put it bluntly, I don't give a damn about whatever crap you're trying to convert people to.

I get enough Warhammer at the local Battlegrounds.

and yet, we still keep checking the thread dont we?
and like i said, the fewer 133+ hax0rz the servers get the better.

The servers can get flooded with nubs for all I care.
