I kind of agree. Yeah, GTA 3 was innovative and it was fun to run around and destroy things and people, for a while, but I became tired of it pretty quickly. I mean, if you want the game for the mayhem, you can play the same one over and over agian. I just can't see the sequels adding enough to the gameplay to merit a purchase. I understand it might just not be my type of game, and that's cool, but I just don't get it.

GTA:San Andreas comes out in the UK this Friday. Which is 3 days after the game has been released in the US.

if I ever played it, I'd only do so to drive around recklessly. Maybe to put tourists in danger.

"My map! My map! How will I get around without my map?"

:D

Oh yes!! It's been dispatched today, so I'm getting it tomorrow, right on the UK release data (seeing as I live in UK)!! :D

The same can be said about the Pokemon series, you run around, catch Pokemon, battle and that's it. What's so fun about it?

The whole point of a game is to be able to do someting you'd never be able to do in real life. Such as going around and shooting thousands of people, as well as stealing cars, etc.

It may sound stupid, but how many of you would honestly do any of these things in real life? Well maybe some of you might, but I hope not :P

Anyways, back to the point, all games are in a sense repetitive.
Look at any strategy game: You build an army then kill everyone else.
Look at any FPS: you shoot everyone and try to stay alive
Look at any RPG: You collect hoards of items and slay millions of monsters

In essence all games work around the same repetitiveness, but it's all the little extra touches which make the game fun. That, and the storylines in some games are pretty cool too.

So saying that a game is extremely repetitive, especially when you've never tried it before, is not being very fair. Personally IMO, the entire GTA series is interesting and fun, but I never get around to finishing the ntire game. Thats why I'm not taking the new game in with open arms, but I'm still looking forward to trying it. I'm looking forward towards MGS3 more than the new GTA game.

Anyway, thats my 2 cents. Peace out.
