The Rules For Dialogue (Figured it out, Mods please lock)

I hope this is the right place to put this...

If you are writing something with dialogue, what are the rules for starting new lines and indenting them, and putting test after dialogue???

That was confusing... Even I don't understand what I just said....

But if you can piece that together, please help.

I think this is what you're asking for. If it's not...um...explain futher!

When quoted dialogue carries from one paragraph to another (and to another and another), the closing quotation mark does not appear until the quoted language finally ends (although there is a beginning quotation mark at the start of each new quoted paragraph to remind the reader that this is quoted language).
