I've been making a new set (as you can see), but I want to keep the transparency in it after I convert ot to .jpeg or whatever. Also, how do I make a certain color transparent? I'm using Photoshop 5.0 LE, if that'll help any.

The only format that supports transparency is .GIF, so you'd have to change to that. Even so, seeing all the round edges in your set, it'll either end up jaggedy or looking good only on one template, depending on if you antialias it or not.

Hmm...yes, antialiasing is on, but there's not option for me to save it as a .gif .

I'm not sure about Photoshop 5, but you should be able to save into .GIFs by going File >> Save For Web then working from there.

Go here, upload your image, click on 'Output', scroll until you see '.gif', click enter/submit, click on the image you see after clicking, copy the url, go here, click the 'File' tab, click open/new image, put in the URL where it says to put it, click enter/submit, click the 'edit' tab once the page opens, click 'transparify', click on the color you want transparent, save, upload, and wah-la.

It's confusing the first few times, but you'll get it eventually.

Ah, I figured it out, though the 'Save for Web' option was a bit different. Thanks!

EDIT: Argh, it looks weird. I'll have to fix it up some more I guess.

You can either do it again and screenshot subSilver and use the eyedropper tool to set your matte option (to antialias it), or open it up as a .GIF and edit it, then use the Save option instead.

I just needed to unblur the edges of it (used a different brush). I'd say it looks pretty good now.

EDIT: Looks like I also sucessfully made my first set that's compatible with subSilver, subBlack, and subRed. Yay me!

So, if you save your file as a GIF file, then upload it it'll be transparent?

If it has transparency, yes.

Also before you save for web, if you have layers, DO NOT flatten them or you will lose transparency.

Does .png support transparency? I could've sworn it does, and I forgot. XP

PNG...I think it only supports transparency inside a program- it will turn transparent areas white outside of it. Not sure though.

PNG files do support transparency, but it doesn't always show correctly in IE (although it does in other browsers, as I understand it). To make a PNG show up correctly in IE, you'll need to save it in 8 bit with binary transparency (rather than alpha transparency).
