A friend of mine is working with someone to develop another pet site (he's well aware of Neopets, Marapets, and Subeta). The pets he is working on (along with some miscellaneous art of his own) may be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/jc/
Though these questions are mainly for Neopet users he's asking his boss if he should also survey members of Marapets and Subeta. If anyone feels inclined to reply to this on those sites please do. If he doesn't need it there's not much harm done, but if he does he'll already be ahead of schedule.

I own a korbat, a bruce, a usul, and a blumaroo.
2) How long have you played this game? Are you still playing?

About 2 years starting September. I still play, although it's to chat with my friend. I do play the games and buy stuff at times though.
3) How much time do you spend on Neopets everyday?

I play for about 3 hours daily.
4) How did you get to know this game?

Through my cousin who played it and the McDonalds promotional ad.
5) Do you have any comments on the pet designings?

Some of them were nice, like the korbat (Who needed a redraw BADLY), but others like the blumaroo and lutari scared me.
6) Your favorite aspects of Neopets? Any reasons you like those?

I just like it because it's organized. (Or was)
7) Would you recommend this game to your friends? Why?

Yes because I'd like to chat with them.

Not much really.

My friend made an account for me which I deleted cos i didnt like the name...

Yes - they are AWFUL. Especially my blumaroo *clings to old designs*

Um. I like the neoboards, because I am a Rooligan on them and i can chat...

Yeah, I would, because its kinda cool, except with the whole new layout customization thing, its kinda not.

Only that the whole customisation thing wont load on my computer, cos my computers really old so stuff like that kinda puts people off...

Some of them are very nice and fancy, but others are too cutesy or were drawn badly.

Stock Market, lots of interactivity, plots, lots of things to do.

Neopets: I don't like the redesigns, especially the Kougra, but the original designs were awesome, for the most part
FurAffinity: I like these designs, they seem very polished, better than most of the other pet sites

Games, good to pass the time, and fun to play

Yeah, I always tell them about neat things.

It's so hard to get everything you want, it can be discouraging (not saying it should be easy, but unless you're a completely obsessed, dedicated player, you're not going to make it)

2) How long have you played this game? Are you still playing? this account=6 years. my 1st account was hacked...but it would be turning around 8 years old.
3) How much time do you spend on Neopets everyday? depends on bordum. But I guess a collective 2 or 3 hrs.
4) How did you get to know this game? I came across the site when they were 1st developing it.
5) Do you have any comments on the pet designings? Its best to base a pet off something everyone knows - like a horse or tiger. People tend to identify with those better
6) Your favorite aspects of Neopets? Any reasons you like those? I'm actually very found of Uni, Koi, Gelert and Kau. My 2nd account is 2 gelert and 2 kau, but I rarely use that account. but I like those pets because I find them cutest and remind me of animals I like.
7) Would you recommend this game to your friends? Why? its a bit childish for someone my age. You really have to enjoy it for what it is, games and bringing out your inner child. but some of my friends do have accounts.
8 ) Find any disadvantages about this game? Do you have any suggestions on how to improve those? glitches run rampid. as so hacking bots and people who are only out to do harm (porn links, spammers, hackers, etc). Theres really no way to stop that, because it comes with size. I do not like that neopets is now full of ads and you have to pay for a premium package to get rid of them because the loading ads often cause the glitches. Neopets has come a very long way from what it used to be.

Since 2001, and yes--though not as much

Half an hour to an hour--more if I have a lot of spare time

I don't like the standardized designs as much as I preferred original pets with original art--my Werelupe and Grey Kougra will probably never be converted, because they are much more interesting as original drawings

The site events(plots, wars, the Altador Cup, AAA challenges, etc.)--it makes Neopets more than just the same old stuff on the site
7) Would you recommend this game to your friends? Why?
No; the freeze-happy world of Neopia is not one I'd recommend entering if you aren't already "invested" in it.
8 ) Find any disadvantages about this game? Do you have any suggestions on how to improve those?
The freezing of accounts is way too common; I'm pretty sure no human looks at some of the freezings. Programs should be able to suspend accounts at most. Another major disadvantage is the lack of a liquid page--the screen is too big for 800x600, and there's a lot of empty space on resolutions above 1024x768. Liquid pages are much better at making people feel "comfortable" with the page.
I also miss the days where Neopets had the "a bunch of people" feel, when you saw the staff members as a bigger part of the site--like the first Altador Cup, when staff members competed in their own knockout tournament. The "bunch of people" feel is generally preferable to the "men behind the curtain" feel Neopets has been edging toward--we know people work on stuff, but we can't see them anymore. And "men behind the curtain" is okay, but it's better to pick one way and stick with it.

I've played over 7 years (update my darn shield, TNT!) and am currently still playing, even though I've fallen out of love with Neo several times.
3) How much time do you spend on Neopets everyday? (AVERAGE)
Too much at the moment, because I'm job hunting At least two hours, I think, but lately it's been around 5.
4) How did you get to know this game?
I can't remember, I signed up in the year 2000, shortly after it first started. Man, those were the days...I'm guessing that I was searching for "virtual pets" or something like that, because back then I loved virtual pets (remember virtual aquarium?)
5) Do you have any comments on the pet designings?
Customization is a good idea gone bad. *coughcough*. I haven't converted my Hissi for a reason. Neo, at times, seems to be losing any sense of art style.
6) Your favorite aspects of Neopets? Any reasons you like those?
It's a great time sink, and certain site events are fun. I also enjoy the people I've met thanks to the site

Probably not, because I imagine it's very hard to get into nowadays...for some reason, Neopets doesn't seem as friendly to "newbies anymore, with freeze sprees and such.

I think I've hinted towards many of the disadvantages above. I just think that TNT, in general, needs to return to the "we listen to our users" philosophy, and really take their opinions and concerns into account.
