CttM and EAC

Fri Jun 25, 2004 6:42 pm

I see those a lot on the Neoboards. I know they're cliques for avatars, but what exactly are they all about??

I know that CTTM means coolness to the max.
And thats all I know :P
Took me forever to figure it out too...

Just a bunch of people who think higher of themselves than others ...

Coolness to the max?! Doesn't that lower your "coolness" factor simply by using that term?! :roflol: coolness to the max. Pft.

It's one of those smile and nod things... just humor them in the fact that they think they're cool.

I would think EAC is "Eager/Exteme Avatar Collectors".... sounds a bit geeky to me.

... of course anything for a clique of avatar people is geeky to me.

Heh, last I checked, the name ("Coolness to the Max") is an inside joke, not something used to actually say, "We're cooler than the rest of you." Also, the first CttM board, where the originals all met, was titled something like "Imjustliving, Zidane, and Jazz are coolness to the max!" It's been said that had it been called something else, such as "Imjustliving, Zidane, and Jazz are pink poogle toys!", the group would be called, in this case, Pink Poogle Toys.

There's a FAQ on CttM on this pet page. This says EACC and CttM are the same thing.

I really have no problem with it. In all my experiences with it, I've never been looked down on or treated unfairly. Then again, I've only read a few of the boards, and only really got interested in it on one of the anti boards dedicated to it. (Which, in the end, turned around into just people randomly talking about it, no "hating" involved.) I'm also in the CttM LJ community, though that's because the mod there was on that same anti board and asked, as she was interested in more members. ^_^;;; (At the time, there were only about six or eight members.) It has almost nothing to do with the Neochats CttM, other than we mainly talk about getting avs. Anyone can join, too.

I'm wondering how you got that impression, other than by the name.

Well i have been part of neo for a long time ... in the beginning people on the boards were pretty nice ... now all these "groups" have become greedy and only offer help to their friends to show how to get avatsr and such. Its just rude how they only offer help and do help people who they know and have seen before .. New Member are rarely helped .. if they are helped its by Vets about 30+ or people who are just like them and learning the ropes ...

Maybe near the beginning everyone was happy and lovable, but I know that back when I frequented the chats, which was around August '02-August '03, there were even more cliques and groups than there are now. The entire I/S chat was made up of random cliques, though I'll admit that most were benign. EMS was the same, as was OW.

These cliques and groups didn't just become greedy and unwilling to help with the arrival of CttM. If you've read a few of the CttM boards, you'd know that most of them are willing to help if you're not going about being a moron or beggar asking for it. New members seemed to be helped just as much as anyone with 50 months. Sure, some people who chat there are mean, but either you've only seen a few boards, all while the elitist idiots of the bunch who post were on, or you haven't really investigated.

I've found help and good conversation among the CttM members who I've talked with on the CttM LJ group. I know that neither those users or the idiots of the group represent everybody. There are many different users who talk on CttM boards, and some are rude, some are nice, and some aren't really either. Just don't group everybody under the rude catagory.

I might make my question a little something more like, "Hey, anyone know how to get ____ yet?", as that's more like what the discussions turn to. I could try both. I'm not sure if there's a CttM board up at the moment, but I'll try it whenever I see one. As long as you aren't being an idiot about asking for help, a.k.a. using chatspeak, being rude, misspelling every single word you type, or begging for items, most members are likely to help.

And those four people, if they did live up to your prediction, are those elitist egomaniacs I was talking about earlier.

CTTM and EACC (you were missing a C) is an Avatar guild, and they claimt o talk about avatars. They're not exactly the brightest, and that I know because I am a former CTTM reg. They decided it would be funny to call me a sissy boy, and I got so mad I left. For good. I try to warn people whenever people make topics about it. And also, I should add that they talk behind people's backs. Not people you should be around.

When I'm bored I'll occasionally go to The Neopian Commentary, and they had an article involving this group. Warning, there are quite a few responses to read through.

:o Woo! A whole underground society of Neopians I've never heard of! Interesting articles, guys. I'm nowhere NEAR CttM enough to be in CttM....
