Ghosts Gone Wild?

Have any of you noticed that at odd, random moments ghosts will steal from loads of people at one time, and put it in the money tree? This just happened to me, and when I checked the Money Tree I saw many many donations from ghosts.

Likely it is on a clock if you will. Once an hour, two hours, they steal a total of XX amount of Neopoints from different accounts.

It does seem like they've started stealing from me more often though.

I've noticed the ghosts have been hitting me up for money alot lately... like several times a day! 
But I've also noticed an increase in other random events (mostly stupid stuff though... woooo random chanting coming from Mystery Island!)

Yesterday was my first time in like a year being hit by the ghosts- but today I had 5 REs
! I was so suprised when I got two codestones in one hour, and then picked up around 120 NP at different times in another hour!!
