What does MMORPG mean?

Er...did I spell it wrongly? It seems hard to pronounce and weird to spell. Anyway, what does it mean?

Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game ;)

Is Neo counted as MMORPG?

Tue Sep 12, 2006 7:44 am

Hmm . . . I don't think so. It's more of a virtual pet site. MMORPGs are RPG's (Role Playing Games), which mean you usually play a character who can interact in a developed world, with other characters, and take on some sort of a role (think of as you are the main character in a story). Now that I think about it, this description does sorta sound like Neopets, in a way >_> One player RPGs are games like Final Fantasy (not including XI) or Kingdom Hearts, so I guess you can use that as a comparison. The only difference is that in MMORPGs, you can interact with other people playing their own characters. Some popular MMORPGs include World of Warcraft, Lineage II, Ragnarok Online, and Maple Story. Also, player interaction is a key part of the game; with Neopets you don't necessarily have to interact with other people.
