I was trying to roughly appraise my Gallery yesterday, and when I came across my Globlin, I could only find one on the Trading Post. And the guy was asking 11 Million NP for it.
That is a lot of NP for little old me. But since it's the only one at the Post, and there are none in auction, I don't know how accurate it is.
Does anyone have any idea how much a Globlin (its a Tropical Fruit, I'm assuming it's a Gourmet Food?) is worth? Is there a place I could go where people discuss the price of items/how much they'd pay for Gourmet Food?
I've kinda grown tired of my account. I'd love to sell my gallery and change up my theme. 11 Million would make that happen haha.

Wow you could go and see the top gourmet club members to see if they've eaten them, and if not haggle with them, but I doubt it will sell for that much, seeing as it's part of a niche market

I checked neoitems.net and saw that it's a retired item. That's probably why so little are around. About the value, it's difficult to determine how much an item like that is worth. Someone on the trading post might be asking 11 mil for it, but you still need to find someone willing to pay that amount for it. It's probably an extremely hard item to sell.
The only way to find out how much it's really worth is to put it on the tp and see what people will bid. It's only worth as much as people are willing to pay for it

Thanks for the tips. I didn't even think about checking out the head Gourmet Club scores. I guess I'll NeoMail around, but I doubt anyone would give me an accurate response. I probably won't sell it (even if I wanted to, as mentioned before it's probably really hard to sell and I know that) but if I did I just wouldn't want to be ripped off.
Anyone here into the Gourmet Club? Is that a normal thing, to pay 11 million for a food item?
EDIT: If it's retired, it doesn't even count towards the Gourmet Club, does it? Well there goes that. I guess I'll just have it sit in my gallery and be proud that so few are around.

You'r right if it's retired it isn't a gourmet food. Now it's only a rare collector's item. The only people you coul sell it to are tropical food gallery owners. Altough I doubt that there are many of them around.

Haha. I'm one and I'd never spend 11 million on anything for my Gallery. Ah well.

At the end of the day it depends on how quickly you want to sell it. If you're willing to wait ages for the nps mark it up quite high and advertise it every now and again to anyone who'd be interested.
On the other hand if you're wanting a quick sell advertise it like crazy on the boards / forums / etc and throw it in for a couple million. If they're that rare people will snap it up!

There are some very rare items that apparently vast amounts of money, bu they can be so specialist that they're almost impossible to sell, so you can sit on an extremely expensive, but ultimately worthless, item.

You just have to be patient.
If you are making a new gallery and there are a few uber-rare HTS items you need to complete it, you might find someone willing to trade a similarly priced uber-rare. You might end up having to wait until closer to gadgadsbogen day, when people will be thinking more about tropical fruits and tropical fruit galleries.
I recently acquired a very expensive but very HTS rare item (neopian philharmonic CD) for my gallery. It's a rare concert souvenir drop. They only play once a month on the second, and only sell 2500 tickets. So one only comes up in trades about every other month. This month there were two and they were priced comparitively cheap (they usually run from 500K - 3 mill). It was just a matter of waiting several months for those circumstances to pop up.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I think I'll just be keeping it (unless they make a supercool Faerie Skeith. Then I'll have to reconsider). The rest of the fruit in my gallery is roughly worth only about 2.6 million (according to NeoItems), and the Globlin is pretty much my rarest item (along with a Mystery Fruit Bowl from the Volcano Plot). So it's not enough of an incentive for me to abandon my current account theme (Mystery Island) considering it will cost me at least 4.5 million to change up my pets and then I'd like to have enough cash left over to start up a new gallery (of what I'm not sure).
I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing, I suppose.

If you ever want to get rid of it, you can always offer it to trade for a every expensive item that you want. Maybe somebody will accept!

Weirdly enough, I found out not too long ago that my Fruit Bomb from the Mystery Island plot is worth over 15 million NP. I haven't bothered to sell it yet, but I bet I could. I still use it in battle XD

Sell it and buy a Ghostkerbomb before they retire...they'll shoot up a ton. And they're way better. Or just keep the Fruit Bomb cause it looks cool.

That's pretty lucky. I have a Mystery Fruit Bowl from the Volcano Plot and I have no idea what it's worth anymore. Used to be 4.5 million, but it's so hard to price things when there are none on the Trading Post.
