Quick question about training

I can't remember, and don't see this anywhere. Can your pet train and battle at the same time? If I put him on a course is he then unable to use the battledome until the course is finished? Thanks!

You can fight wihile they're training, you just won't get the benefit of the new statistic until the course is done.
