Faerie abilities not working?

I've recently gained the Regeneration (earth) ability, which should heal up to 33% of my lost HP. But so far, whenever I try to use it, nothing happens, there's not even a mention of it in the battle log! All other abilities seem to work just fine.. I do have a healing item in my equipment, could that interfere (since you're only allowed one healing item at a time, although Rgeneration is an ability, not another item)?

You use the ability Regeneration to bring up your health!

Definitely working for me, did you have at least 40% of your power remaining when you used it?

I have no idea how power works.. I've searched around for it, but found no info on it.

I've just tried to use it without attacking with weapons, and it seems to work this time.. But how do I retain my power when I'm fighting?

As far as I can tell: Every time you use a faerie ability, you use up some power, so conserve. Also, if you use up all your power, even the things that don't use power (i.e. fierce attack, etc.) won't do anything anymore.
