I was reading through jellyneos information on the sidebars, and came across this

Valentines Day
To get this sidebar, you must either send the item "A Mysterious Valentines Card" to another person, or receive it from someone else. However, it only works on February 14th, Valentines Day.

Does that mean the Valentines Sidebar only works on Valentines? Or its only attainable on Valentines?

It means you can only send the card on Valentine's Day to get the sidebar. The sidebar works year-round once you have it.

Its only attainable on Valentines. If you send the card some other day, it'll just work like sending a normal neo-item. Here's a good guide, but I can't access to anything involving neo because of the Taiwan earthquake.
Can't collect advent calender.

Thanks. I got a bit confused. I know the Birthday one is only available on TNT/account birthday. And it only works those two days.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just hope this person accepts my trade, and then I'll hold onto the card for a month or so...

Both the sending person and the recieveing person get the sidebar dont they? and then the item dissapears... thats what i'd heard.

Anyway, if thats the case then its about 80k each for the sidebar.

IIRC, and FWIW, the mysterious valentines cards restock in bundles of 20-40, and sell for dirt cheap. They've gone on sale both of the last two years around the 11th of February and continue to sell until the servers are updated on the 15th.

If you're any good at restocking, you'll make your 160k back in spades. I think I made about 3 or 4 million valentines week last year, and that was when autobuyers were a much bigger antagonist than now. Now that it's just my reflexes against other people, I'm confident in making much more.

As the 11th is a Sunday, there's the possibility that they won't start restocking until the 12th (Monday) or 13th (Tuesday, necessarily), which will keep prices higher.

The alternate possibility exists as well: that the cards will start restocking on Friday the 9th in the late afternoon, which will allow for an extra two days of restocking and lower prices.

There are millions more accounts now than there were last year, so that will factor into the demand part of the equation, but I'm not sure how many more will be active this year than last.

At any rate, start watching the gift shop and neoboards. And make lots of money.

They also pop up periodically in the Igloo Garage Sale year round...but it's very rare. I think I've only ever seen one once there.

I have the Curse of Maraqua, Qasalan, Happy Valentine's Day and Haunted Woods sidebars, and use the HW one most of the time.

Firstly we will be launching the first of our themed side bars very soon. These special side bars may be available for all people on certain days, but are very hard to be able to have all the time, much in the same way avatars currently work.

As well as looking pretty cool, each side bar as certain advantages and disadvantages. For example if you have a Faerieland side bar, you will win more on the Faerieland games, but will not be able to visit the Haunted Woods at all. Exactly what each side bar does will not be explained, that is something you will need to work out for yourself.

There will also be special combo random events that you will get if you have a certain side bar that are better than the normal random events.

I have had my Haunted Woods sidebar on since Halloween and I have not noticed any increase in RE's in the Haunted Woods.

I wonder if TNT changed their minds on what Sidebars do?

Also I like the idea of a Faerieland Sidebar (on another world) that wont let you visit any other place.

Also:

On your birthday, not only do you get the snazzy sidebar, but you get zero adverts at the top, Its just a nice little added bonus.

The sidebars (except for Birthday) don't have any other effects. TNT just got lazy.
