What are they for and why it costs a lot?

Each of the beads (there are 20 different beads, 5 of a kind in 4 different colors) and each one has a place on your Lutari Talisman. The more beads you have, the luckier you are in Neopia (ie: higher np amounts for sent scores, more random events, etc. etc.) They cost so much because they are very rare and you can find them mostly in trades and sometimes in auctions. Hope this cleared it up a little bit.
