I can't seem to get anywhere near the score required for the avatar. I play on the hardest classic difficulty level, and I can usually pick up about 30 neggs max before I run out of room. Still, my highest score is only 760, about half of what's required. Do I need to increase my dexterity so that I can pick up more neggs, or is it all a matter of luck in getting multiple fish neggs? No matter how often I play, I can't seem to improve past 30 or so neggs per game. The only game more frustrating for me is the buzzer game, in which I can't even get past the first level. Anyone got any tips besides what's in the game guide? I've tried playing the gravity mode, but I could only get 3 neggs max before dying. Is it better to play in that mode hoping for a fish negg?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

I know what you mean...I've been trying for it for a long time. My highest score is around 750...I have no idea what the secret is for it.

You two are lucky, my highest is like 850 but that's only because of a lucky streak. I'm usually ecstatic if I can get my score over 350
So I gave up on that avatar long long ago.

Oh, I just said that was my
high score, and the
max neggs I could get in one go. I usually send anything over 200 or 250! I just don't get how that avvie is even possible unless someone manages to get at least two fish neggs in the first 20 neggs. I thought maybe there was some strategy I didn't know about.
The only avvie I've completely given up on is the buzzer game one.

It used to be a lot easier with meerca chase I...

There's an extra level, if you type
superextrahypergravitymode before you choose the difficulty, you can play in a new mode where a yellow negg is worth 18 points, it's a little easier to get the avvie that way

lol...yeah...750 is my highest score. If I can get to around 250 on most days, I'm happy.

Yeah, but it's nearly impossible to get more than 3 neggs without being sucked into the middle. And the
feriousneggsareontheloose (I'm not sure that's the exact wording) one isn't much better either.

I think that's the only level where you can get the avatar. fishnegg is worth 900 points there. Just gotta keep trying untill that one pops up.

Yeah but once you hit the outer ring, you go flying in no matter what, and when the neggs appear there, you have to get them and you die no matter what. How do I avoid this?

How many points can the Power Negg really give you though?[/quote]

You can touch the outer ring. Just not the side of the screen. The other thing abot that round that makes it doable is that you can stop pressing forward for a moment or 2. that way you can be extra carefull when you do have to come close to the side or have to manouvre trough small spaces.
As I recall power negg is 540 points.

For some reason I thought it was 450 points.
*looks up*
Okay, apparently it's quite hard to find the exact value. Places I see conflict with their information.
Regardless, I found it a lot harder to get a high score on II than the original. You used to be able to get the av through the old game (though it was in the graveyard), but they've since removed that ability.

My highest score was 952 with the help of a power negg and a fish negg.
However, I have a question. All over neopets there are these "codes" you can type in such as the ones you guys have been talking about... I can never get them to work. Could someone please tell me how?
Mon Jan 08, 2007 8:52 pm
To get the code to work, just start the game and then type the code exactly as written (no spaces, caps, etc.). If the mode doesn't show up, try clicking somewhere within the game screen, then type it again (make sure your capslock key is off). The extra mode will appear below the others.
After trying gravity mode a few times, I realized the reason I kept dying after 1 negg was that gravity would cause me to slide into my tail -- but the same rules apply here, so everything will get flushed down the drain as soon as that happens. So if you're charging across the screen, watch out for your tail!
Thanks for telling me which mode to play in to try for the avatar. I'll keep practicing in gravity, and maybe I'll get it eventually.
(I tried in Meerca Chase I but never got the high score before they stopped giving the avvie for it; I used to play both versions every day when I could get NP for both.)

My high score was 1980.
It was all thanks to Gravity mode too.
If I had played any other regular mode, there is NO way I could have gotten that.
In Gravity mode, the fish neggs are worth 900 pts! It definetly helps.
Gravity mode took a bit of getting used to. I kept pressing the up key and thinking if I held it down, i'd go somewhere.. that's not the case. It's more of a 'stop and go' technique. Where you gently press the keys whenever you need to. The up key does make you go forward, but if you press it with another key, you go in circles and end up in the black whole.
The idea of gravity helps too when getting neggs in difficult places.
Here's an excellent guide that helped me a lot!
