Hi everyone! I was hoping if you had any Kou-jong tips or game guides to post them here! Thanks! 8)

This seems to fit better in the Game Strategies than the general site chat so I'll move it there.

Tips!
Well, be patient. :D It can be a frustrating game.
Um.. I find it works better if I keep clicking. If I hesitate, I lose my focus, and obviously my score suffers. If you find yourself hesitating, just restart.

It takes a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, your score will get better.
I tend to shut out everything while I play, so I focus just on that game. Sometimes it takes me almost an HOUR to play one game! From restarting and well, getting those stupid "no more legal moves" things. .. :)

Best of luck hon.

Watch what you're doing. You've got to be careful when you remove some tiles - you could have two of the same outside, and easy to remove, but the remaining two are together in the middle of a row - making it very hard to clear them. In that case, I leave it until I can get to one of the middle ones.

Also, be careful of the ones that are 'doubled up' (one on top of each other). I've lost before when I've had 2 left on the board, because they were stacked.

In the third level, get rid of the edge tiles (blocking 90% of the board) ASAP. It makes your life so much easier, as you have a lot more options.

As it lays out the tiles, it does it one layer at a time. It's quick, but look for any instances of two of the same tile within the same row of the bottom layer -- you'll need to get at least one of those out early if you want to avoid the "no more moves" notice. Sometimes, you'll notice that one row will have 2 or 3 pairs, so just work from the ends, focusing on this row. Another bad combo is ABAB -- if these are your last 4 tiles, you'll have to reset, so make sure you match either the end A or the end B with one of its other matches.

i try to match the sets of 4 when i can. in real mah-jhong (sp?) it gives you extra points, but not here. other than that, i'd say be ready for lots of replays. i often seem to get stuck with the 'no moves left' thingy.
