I suck at Dubloon Disaster... kept playing and kept getting bombed, and despairing of ever beating Abigail - and then a 100 point dubloon shows up! :o I immediately hit the 'send score' button lolol. Day 3 done and dusted.

It takes me about 20 mins just to get 150 points!

If you play lots do you just get faster or something? All those people with scores of 15,000...tell me they aren't sitting around for hours to get that?

I don't know about the new version, but in the old one, nothing changed throughout the game... This is one of the few games where can get a trophy without being an elite gamer, it just takes a loooooong time :P

Of course a bit of luck is involved, too. If you get a lot of silver or gold dubloons, things go a little faster ^^.

Im just grateful that they also took into consideration the not so uber players. If i had to beat AAA, i would have not even bothered playing. this way, people who can play get the better prizes while those who take the effort to just play can also get something.

Me too -- I wasn't even going to attempt beating AAA at the current games. I love Destruc-o-match, but I've only hit 2500 one time. Not going to waste all day trying again.

:)

Yaaaay on my first try I got an 1855! :D Got two 250s, a 100, and a couple 50s, but the rest was all skill baby *flexes muscles*

...I'm happy, lemme alone. ;p

And I think I'm going to buy back my last two prizes I won and just keep everything.

Edit: vvvv Nah, I only won destruct-o-munch, which I sold for 199. Found one for 155 heh. Also, sold my Meerca plushie for 12k and found one for 10k, so I'm just profiting it up over here

Does anyone know the minimum requirements to play the new Dubloon Disaster? The window pops up but I can't get to the Main Menu. The Main Menu button is there and a "0%" in the corner. The rest is horrid blackness. I have waited for up to 40 minutes to see if the game would load. Any ideas?

Rakumel, I get "The Last Mimsy" advert animation like I did yesterday for Destruct-o-Match. Then the game doesn't load.

Update: Cleared the cache. All is well.

Just click on the Main Menu button and it'll take you right to the game screen. Apparently there's some introductory animation that's supposed to load and play there, but isn't working. Unless you've tried that already...just pointing it out, because it confused me too.

For those of you still trying to get your Dubloon Disaster challenges done - especially if you're aiming to beat 1,200 - here's a strategy someone posted here a long time ago (forgot who it was, sorry!) that helped me out a bit. Instead of letting two mines at a time pop up, then baiting them into getting so close to each other that they blow each other up - just let them keep coming (they'll stop after 8 or so). Then sort of 'herd' them into the middle, and treat them like one giant mine instead of a bunch of little ones.

This makes it easier to just snap up dubloons that appear around the edges. Yes, a dubloon will sometimes appear towards the middle, and you may have to take some time to maneuver the mines far enough away from it. And you'll still need patience. But I just thought I'd share this method, in case anyone wanted to try it. Good luck! :D
