Evil Fuzzles Multiplier Button

I must be horribly blind, but I can't find the multiplier (bonus) button in Evil Fuzzles Beyond the Stars. Since I can't click it, I can't get enough credits to get above 150 points or so. Can anyone tell me where it is? The PPT guides don't specify, and I've played the first level twenty times trying to figure it out. I'd really like to be able to challenge AAA instead of his dorky sister.

It's a bar that says some number X2 (or X3 if you're past 10 consecutive hits). It shifts randomly everywhere on the screen everytime you hit another fuzzle, and disappears if you break the chain of consecutive hits.

Thanks, Yoshi. I just got 470, and I don't have the timing down for hitting the bar yet. I was looking all over the control panel (top and bottom of the screen) trying to find it--I didn't realize that the numbers ARE the bar!
