New items in inventory with no random event?

Sat Apr 14, 2007 5:34 am

:o Have you guys been having items appear in you inventory with no random event that you can remember? This is the 2nd item that was in my inventory and I don't remember having a random event and there's no event message saying it was given to me. I wasn't really doing much on neopets at that time either... o_O

It does happen quite frequently. Sometimes you can miss the RE by refreshing pages too quickly. Other times, I think the RE just doesn't happen. o_O

It is often a surprise when I go to use the Wiz and I have a Faerie Quest waiting for me and I never saw the RE.

Hmm...so they're making the RE's invisable now too? LoL

If you use Firefox or any other browser with a prefetch, it will try to grab the next page you're likely to visit, and that will act as if you had clicked the link. This sometimes manifests itself in other ways: for example, the browser might visit the Snowager before you actually click the link, resulting in a "you already visited it" message.

In Firefox, to turn this off, go to about:config and set "network.prefetch-next" to false.

The opposite has been happening to me. It says I get a RE but when I check my inventory, nothing!
Rip off. :P

Umm... without sounding like an imbecile, where should I find about:config? Is it on a menu in firefox?
