Featured Game Ticket

New NC Mall item.

What is the Featured Game Ticket?
The Featured Game Ticket is an item that can be purchased at the NC Mall.
The Featued Game Ticket will allow you to exchange the Site Featured Game for the game of your choice from the selection in the drop down menu when you choose to redeem it.

You will have 180 days to redeem the ticket from the time of purhcase.

How does a Featured Game Ticket work?
There are two ways you reach the redemption window for your Featured Game Ticket.
To get to the redemption popup window, either click on the Featured Game Ticket in your inventory, or on the splash page of certain games, you will see a message that says "You have a featured game ticket that can be redeemed on this game. Click here to do so." and by clicking that, you will bring up the redemption popup window as well. This will use up your ticket and it will disappear from your inventory.

From there you select the action to "redeem ticket" and you will see a drop down menu with all the available games. When you select the game you wish to set as the Featured Game, click on "Set Featured Game" and that will be your new Featured Game for the next 24 hours.

Just a suggestion, please be aware to not choose a game that you have already submitted scores for, for that day. If you choose Meerca Chase II and you already had played it 3 times today, you will not have any plays left to take advantage of your Featured Game Ticket for today.

How long can I use the Featured Game Ticket for?
The actual Ticket itself will be in your inventory and you have 180 days to redeem it.
Once it is redeemed, you will have 24 hours to play the game that you chose. The ticket will disapear once redeemed. The Featured Game you chose will last across parts of 2 days, so if you are able to, you can even play the Featured Game you chose for a max of 6 times within the 24 hour window.

The game plays are still limited to 3 per day so please be wary of this and do not choose a game that you already have maxed your plays out for the current day on.

How do I purchase a Featured Game Ticket?
The Featured Game Ticket can be purchased in the NC Mall and can be found under "Other Items" in the Limited Edition section.

So I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this yet. On one hand, people can now basically buy 3k (actually they say the coupon can last 2 days..so 6k) a day if they so please..on the other, $1.50 for 3k is pretty steep. I do have a feeling TNT is going to catch some more hell for this though. Something about money not being able to affect gameplay and np?

Opinions anyone?

Bah, I had just finished copying/typing all that up. ;)
I'm not sure how I feel about it either, yet. Since it's the same amount in NC that you can win off the new gambling thing, I'm not as upset as I probably would be otherwise. {shrugs}

Can't you earn 2k per play on Featured Games? So they could possibly earn 12k from it. I won't be buying anything from the NC Mall anytime soon (unless it is free) or until October when the new "gift cards" come out.

You could have normally earned 1k off the game anyways, so you'd be getting a "free" 1k per play...totaling up to 6k.

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood what the ticket does.

Ouch, you can choice a game you are better at and lets say you can get 850 NPs on the current featured game. That's 850 x 3 = 2550 * 2 = 5100 and 6000 if you did your easy 1k game so profit of 900 NPs for $1.50. This seems like a huge advantage since it lasts TWO days if used right so it could be even HIGHER. This changes if your horrible at the featured game though. So that's a free 1.2k (Well not EXACT free). The only people this doesn't help is the die hard gamers that can get 3000 Nps a day on every game.

Sorry TNT, but this is a HUGE mistake it's making NPs way too easy to gain. In some sense you are paying for extra NPs.

On the one hand, the NP is negligible. You can generally get more than that out of dailies and whatnot on any given day.
On the other hand...the philosophy behind it bothers me. I get the slippery-slope feeling again.

Spending $1.50 for getting an additional 6k over 2 days does not sound promising at all! Though I do not see myself spending on the NC Mall thing at all, this kind of rip-off makes the decision all the more easier.

And I should add that earning that less NPs are relatively easy now-a-days with that many sponsor games, dailies, etc.

Well I know exactly how I feel about this, very smurf off. You can now basically buy neopoints with real money. Wow, certainly didn't take TNT long at all to go back on their "mall stuff won't effect game play" promise now did it?

On the one hand you can say it's a very small amount of NP. And $1.50 is a ridiculous price for that amount of NP, I sure wouldn't pay that, even if I wasn't dead set against the mall. But we're going down that road farther and farther. I can envision some nuts spending large amounts of money on a bunch of these cards, using them day after day and racking up a substantial amount of neopoints. I'm sure people who'd do this are in the minority, but if there are people out there willing to shell out 50 bucks for the humor value of the NC flag, I'm sure there are people out there willing to spend some good money to get a little NP advantage over other players.

I'd say we're starting to cross the line now. A small step to be sure, but still over the line.

I'd never buy it. While it does give an advantage, the advantage is small, and there's plenty of games out there that I could just play and get another 6k from anyway.

I'm starting to lean this way. I mean, seriously. I can earn 12-15k in about 10 minutes. Why would I pay $1.50 to add 3k to that? It's definitely not worth it.
Not to mention that 3k doesn't seem like much to me nowadays.

Re: Featured Game Ticket

Ditto on the 3k seeming like pocket change. I earn slightly over 2k a day for free from interest, I have no need to pay to get 3k.

I just... don't see the point. Instead of paying $1.50, why not just find another game that you can get an easy 3k from? Ratios change all the time and there's always new games that help out, and with a little bit of practice it's not hard to find a bunch of games to play daily that you can get NP from.

Dumb item. To buy it, people should either fail at math or be so filthy rich they can afford to waste money for an extra 6k.
But I think it won't take much for them to devise new items you can buy with real money that can earn you much more cash. Though my bet right now are MC-exclusive paintbrushes.

*shrug*

Neopets is still free for me, don't care who has an advantage.

It does give an advantage, but it's only 3K.
