How many games of Bilge Dice have you played? And which of the two avatars, if any, do you have?

Maybe 5. I am pretty bad at the game, and I don't have either of the avs

Probably about 15. I wish I had one or two of the avatars.

Countless, countless games, gotten a trophy too :)
I have the easier avatar of the two, trying for the 10 Streak one.

Any tips? I've been playing and playing and can only seem to win 2 in a row and I'm lucky if I break even in NP.

Well, it's all about chance. Those people who are at the top of the scoring table, probably play just like you, they just play a lot. Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't. There's been many times when I've been sitting by my computer late in the night, trying to get back all my lost money. It can be as much as -50 000 NP, if I'm really stubborn :P
But overall, I tend to get a profit every month, as I usually manage to get the maximum 5000 NP every day.

If it's tactics you are after, I don't really know how to help you, as the game is almost entirely about chance and luck. Don't worry, if you've managed to get 2 streaks, I can tell you play "the right way" :)
But I would feel guilty though, if I didn't provide any tips at all in this overly long post, so here are some:

Always ante 1000, if you want to make some profit. Try to get the 4 and 1 early in the game.
If the first, second and third set of dice (= before a roll) only consist of dices under 6, only keep 1 and/or 4 if there is one. Otherwise keep the highest die. If the last die is 4 or more, keep it, don't roll.
It's tempting to get those sixes no matter what, but focus on getting the Qualifiers first. You don't want to take 3 sixes immediately in the beginning, if you don't have the qualifiers. M
ost importantly though, always watch the scores of your opponents - you should make your moves based on their scores.
Try to roll as much as possible, that is, if there aren't any sixes or qualifiers, take only the highest die.

There a big chance you already knew all of this, but as I said, except from the usual tactics, there's really no very good hints to give out in this game :)
